"We came from Sterling, Va., to spend a few days at the beach. We were given a warm welcome by Heather who checked us in, showed us around, and gave us excellent suggestions about things to see and do. You would not be able to find a more gracious host than Heather. The Sanderling was recently remodeled and is beautiful. The beach is just a few steps out the door and was pristine. The Sanderling provides chairs, towels and umbrellas. The food was delicious and we ate frequently at the restaurant. Highly recommend this hotel and a special shout out to Heather for making our visit special."

"I been staying here for 4-5 times now, we like the property. The pier is really nice for fishing, really the one reason why we stay here. Easy fishing access. Wife likes the area and is quiet, centric to the outter banks can go north or south quite easily. Will continue to come back for years to come "

"My sons and I stayed for a few days and loved it! The place was very clean and had a nice view from the front porch. I loved hearing the ocean while relaxing out there. The decor was perfect for a nice beach feel. There was very easy access to the beach (not a straight shot across, but very close). It was also conveniently close to a lot of the shops.The only drawback for me was the outdoor shower. It was very dark (no sunlight filters in, which takes away the joy of being outside while showering) and lots of cobwebs. But this wasn’t enough to ruin our vacation.This was a GREAT place and I highly suggest it! "

"There were five of us staying for OBX bike week. Everything was great during our stay, the host was close by and easily accessible for any of our needs. We really enjoyed our stay! "

"We booked this last minute and didn’t know what to expect. It was our first time to the area. We were pleasantly surprised. The room/condo was right in the beach with beautiful views of the ocean from our deck. Only a few steps away from the beach. The tennis/pickleball court was in excellent condition, with good equipment! We did have to buy our own pickleballs (not a big deal)and enjoyed it every day. The pool was going through what looks like some much needed renovations. Not a big deal, we were there for the beach. We enjoyed watching the dolphins, and the quiet beach. We enjoyed the short drive to Duck and the adorable shops. The room/condo was equipped with everything! The bed was excellent and the pull-out couch clean but the pillows could use some updating. There was a moldy smell near the sliding doors and a water stain on the ceiling.The half bath also had a moldy/closed up smell. This didn’t bother us but may others. But there was an half bath!! Everything was very clean and We would definitely book here again. "

"This property worked very well for our April trip to the Outer Banks. The main selling points were: (1) Great accommodation for two adults and two teens. We had a unit with a living/dining area and kitchen, a master bedroom, and a separate loft room up a flight of steps, which gave the teens their own space. (2) There’s an indoor pool that we wanted in case the weather didn’t turn out to be good during our stay. The property isn’t on the beach, but a few mins drive will take you to the hotel’s own parking lot which is very close to the beach. The parking lot was usually empty when we went - it may be very busy in peak summer thought. There isn’t a restaurant onsite, which at first I thought was odd, but then realized that you don’t really need it with all the options nearby. Overall, this was a great base for our trip. The weather turned out to be excellent, but we still enjoyed using the pool and hot tub in the evenings. "

"Wow! Holli goes over and beyond to make people feel comfortable in this space. It’s cozy and simple, but there’s a lot packed in. The room itself is beautifully decorated and comfortable- smart tv, comfortable furniture, and easy to come and go locks. The spaces outside cry for you to come and enjoy them. There is a lot to take advantage of as this spot is very close to both the beach and the sound and restaurants and shops, but it still felt like a private little getaway tucked away in a sweet neighborhood- not loud beach house rows. We were so lucky to meet Holli in person and she felt like a friend we had known forever. Every restaurant or bar suggestion she made were just as amazing as she said they would be. (Swell’a brewery and Art’s Place) We will definitely be coming back to Hey, Get a Room the next time we come to the Outer Banks. "
