"Sorry Red Lion It’s not as clean as you’d like to think - see pics , chair leg is broken so could only sit on bed But Bed linen fresh, towels pure white, room smells fresh (apart from people smoking in pub garden, but that’s not your fault) Slept ok but room could do with makeover, update and consider how to use the space more efficiently "

"Lovely quaint stay"

"We stayed 2 nights in a 2nd floor room over looking the courtyard. The staff were all very welcoming & friendly. The breakfast had a good variety, nice and hot & cooked well which is not always the case for buffet style breakfasts. The location is good for the Peak District. Plenty of parking & although due to weather we were not able to enjoy it, the outside area was very pretty. The bathroom could benefit from a little work. Overall Good Location, welcome staff, excellent breakfast."

"The welcome was shocking, the arrival time was wrong. Did not receive the entry code by email the day before. The stairs very steep. Very dusty in bathroom. The shower only had very hot water. The window sill had traffic grit in the corners, window were streaked. Uneven floor, luckily we did not fall, but nearly did. If I had known I would not have booked. "What a joke! The hotel cancelled on me right before we were due to stay because of an apparent leak. I think managed to book a different hotel at twice the price as it was so last minute. Hucknall house has now blocked my phone number and I still am waiting for a refund. "

"Absolutely fantastic stay . The staff who were on was top notch . Couldnt fault them . Friendly and welcoming. We also dined and had the mac and chees which was lovely and the carvery was outstanding . Carvery chef made sure all food was nice hot and fresh and was very nice and polite . Credit to the landlord "
