"What a fabulous place to stay. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The pub and the outdoor areas are wonderful the food and drinks plentiful and delicious. "Everything was wonderful EXCEPT no air conditioning so the whole hotel felt like a sauna (we were there during a heat wave in May) and they didn’t do table service for dinner so we had to order our food and drinks from the bar, which isn’t the end of the world but knocks a star off the rating. Room was super cute, well decorated, the bathroom was really nice, loved the shower and it was very clean. "The lodge is very convenient for Newbury or Reading as you can hop on the train at the racecourse station."

"This is a very old Inn with oak beams and uneven floors. The facilities were good however the room was unbearably hot. Even though we had 2 fans on we were just covered in sweat as soon as we came out of the shower. It was impossible to sleep."
