Novotel Reading Centre

"Great location right in the heart of the city centre, with easy access to public transportation. The staff were very welcoming, professional, and always willing to help, which made the overall experience even more enjoyable. Cleanliness was generally good, although there is some room for improvement. Breakfast offered a good variety of options to suit different tastes, and the food at the restaurant was delicious. The gym was well-equipped and clean, and I particularly enjoyed my workout session. The swimming pool was fun, although the water was a little cold. The sauna and steam room, on the other hand, were absolutely amazing! One small recommendation would be to consider adding more Rituals diffusers, or increasing their presence, in the reception area and guest rooms to enhance the overall atmosphere and create an even more welcoming experience. Overall, I had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend this hotel!"

"It’s an average hotel that does the job. Having to request and wait for an iron and ironing board doesn’t feel very “4 star”. Decent location for what I needed though and usually a decent rate compared with some other hotels in Reading city centre."
Warbrook House Heritage Hotel

"Room was okay. They put us out in the Grange even when that was not made clear in the booking and it did not seem that the main building was full. Rooms were decent but bathrooms especially need upkeep - missing tiles, tight handles for spout etc. Breakfast was better than expected had vegan butter / soy milk. Limited staff so not easy to get help etc. They had golf carts that should have been able to take people (especially old people in the cold) from one end to the other end of the property but no body around to drive them."

"I stayed in the annex building above the gym while working nearby. The receptionist was very friendly and talkative and rhe room only a short walk from the main hotel. The room was comfortable and clean, with nice views over the woodland. The bathroom skylights were a nice touch, especially with the heavy rain. Breakfast was rather nice, with a good selection of buffet style food of a good quality."
De Vere Wokefield Estate

"As a family of three I booked a room that would be suitable for me and my two sons (19 and 14). We were placed in Wellington Lodge which is about a 10 - 15 min walk from the main building. This wasn't a massive problem for us but it was raining on our first night and something to be aware of if you are booking a room, maybe call and check first if it is a problem for you as the buildings are quite spread out. The Mansion house looks impressive and it is, although there wasn't really much happening in there except for breakfast and an empty bar. Seemed a bit of a shame really as the building is amazing. The breakfast was pretty good but I couldn't help thinking that its a shame that the breakfast room isn't open as a cafe during the day serving panini's and snacks, seemed a bit of a wasted opportunity really. Wokefield place is the main place to be, you can get a drink at the bar, watch sports and play pool but it serves the same menu as The View restaurant which was a little disappointing and expensive. The pool and gym are OK. The driving range was good. There was no information in our room, menus, eating times etc. Overall we had a nice break."
