Crowders Mountain State Park has a wealth of great trails which end with great views of North Carolina piedmont. The two main destinations are Crowders Mountain (2.8 mile walk from Sparrow Springs Access) or the Pinnacle or King's Pinnacle. The Pinnacle trail is a pleasant 2 miles trek uphill through rich forest. The last little bit has some rock scrambling with signs that urge carefulness. But the views are stupendous, especially with fall colors in full display. (About 45 minutes west of Charlotte, NC)

"The porch was so nice being screened in, especially in the Summertime. Family enjoyed the dock, fishing and swimming and kayaking to the island. Mom’s Cabin is a great place to stay. "

"Gastonia was a very beautiful place to stay. Easy access to a charming downtown and close to Charlotte. The property itself had some problems, so better prepared packers will avoid inconveniences, but the owner was accommodating for shortcomings. A good spot if you don't plan to spend all day at home."

"We enjoyed our stay at Long Cove Resort! It was our first time ever staying in a tiny house and the entire resort had a cozy vibe. Tucked away right on the lake, it was very quiet and peaceful even with every cabin booked. Can’t wait to come back when the weather is warmer and experience the lake activities!"

"Was not happy with check in as we had asked for early check in if possible. We received a call around noon and was told the cabin would be ready for us at 2. When we got there they were still cleaning the cabin and told us it would be another 20 to 30 minutes before we could get in. Not pleased with the overall. "
