"We stayed in room 60 at Silken Thomas for 3 nights, the room was lovely, the food was excellent, we had private parking, with code entry, behind the property. But the best part of the holiday was the staff, they were all lovely, especially the owner Brian, and even more so, his wife Beata. Beata could not be any nicer, she made us feel so welcome, nothing was any bother. In a restaurant that was really busy every night, she would come over asking how we were. But the thing that impressed me more than anything else, was her unbridled kindness. We had been out shopping in Newbridge, as we were trying to cross the road, a police car was speeding past. My wife Elaine was watching the police car, missed the kerb, went straight down, onto the road. She was very lucky there was no traffic coming, and the she managed to get her hands out in time to protect her face. But she hurt her knees, arm, staved her thumb and there was a nasty cut on her hand. I got Elaine in the car, with an old golf towel for her bleeding hand. We got back to Silken Thomas, Elaine was a bit shaken, I helped her get cleaned up, as her clothes were wet from the rain water on the road. Then I went to the main hotel to see if Beata had any plasters, maybe antiseptic. I told Beata what had happened, she gave me some elastoplasts with antiseptic wipes. I was only back in our room 10 minutes, when the door went, it was Beata, to see if Elaine was okay. So genuinely concerned. We will definitely be back next year."
