After I booked our stay I never heard from the host. I started thinking this is kinda odd they usually reach out immediately but I figured surely I would hear from host before our arrival…….nope I reached out several times the day of our arrival (I only booked the day before) never got any reaponse. I decided to call VRBO customer service (who were all great btw), they got the host to respond to me and let me know that there had been a tornado (which really did happen) but because of that the Freon was low and were waiting on r-22 recharge……..after an hour and a half on the phone with customer service they finally got the host to cancel our reservation and refund our money. I fully believe that if I had not called customer service the host would have never responded nor would they have canceled and refunded our money. We were also left with no place to stay as it was a holiday weekend.
