"Nice big room with a very comfortable bed. Lovely and quiet, so had a great nights sleep. Handy for the nearby hospital. Very reasonably priced, would definitely recommend for a work trip."

"Our first stay here, will definitely not be the last. What a brilliant find! From the minute we arrived to the minute we left we were made to feel very welcome! What a lovely place. Very spacious rooms, spotlessly clean, free car parking and breakfast included. Close enough to York McArthur Glen, easy access on park & ride into York. Thank You"

"We found The Talbot a very nice hotel. The only thing we didn’t like was that they added a 10% service charge onto our evening meal bill. The receipt said that this additional charge goes directly to the waitress and if you didn’t want to pay it you could ask for it to be removed. Any tip should be at the customer’s discretion. How embarrassing would it be to ask for them to remove it!! The hotel should make sure it’s staff are paid well so they don’t have to rely on customers’ tips. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay with the hotel being in a very good location for visiting Malton and surrounding areas."

"Room was clean and tidy, good amenities especially with the small fridge in the room. Staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast had a good choice and served very quickly. Ample parking at the rear of the building. Good choice of evening meal, only sorry we weren't there on Sunday for the carvery. Great location in a beautiful small village. Would recommend and stay again."

"Although dated and in need of modernisation, this place was clean with everything you need. Checking in and accessing the room key was quick and easy. The room was large, bathroom was clean, bedding was clean. Tv worked. plenty of hot water."
