"Nice family-run small hotel. Old but renovated. Very friendly and helpful owners. Relaxed and casual atmosphere. Great view of the water from our room and from the bar/breafast room. Guests may need to walk up a few flights of stairs. Bathroom was small, but that is expected in these old hotels and guest houses. Room and bathroom were clean. Served an excellent breakfast, with interesting selections. Free parking. But note: your car GPS may (will) send in you circles trying to find the actual car park in front of the hotel. Fortunately, the owners send personalized instructions on finding the actual road to take."

"I fell in love with this property as soon as I went in. It is in need of some TLC, some bits and pieces are a bit tired looking. That being said, I found it really comfortable with gorgeous views and very peaceful. Campbell, the host, was easy to communicate with, nothing was to much trouble. This was my first visit and hopefully won't be my last. I would love to return."

"We were very pleased with this property. Spacious and well equipped. Lovely welcome package and cosy warm on arrival. It had everything we needed and was central for what we wanted to do. Parking was easy and convenient. We would definitely recommend 1 Marine Place for a perfect stay on Bute"
