"The location is pretty, breakfast was good and hotel overall is in good shape. They really should consider installing air conditioners since the weather has gotten so hot in most of Europe. It was very difficult to sleep. The temp dropped a bit but very late at night and the fans were just circulating hot air. "

"If you’re planning to visit Melk Abbey, be aware that Hotel Donauhof is not within walking distance—you’ll need to take a taxi, which costs about €16 each way. Alternatively, there's a bus that runs only once per hour. The hotel provides no in-room amenities—not even, tea or bottled water—and there is no air conditioning, which can be uncomfortable in the warmer months after June. "If you want a nice, peaceful, away from everything kind of place, then this is your stop. Up on top of the mountains, you have a fantastic view all around you. It is very quiet and you can sleep peacefully. The rooms are quite basic, no fridge, soap stuffs, but it is still a great lodge. The owners are very nice and amazing folks who will do what they can to make your stay pleasant. This was definitely a relaxing stay for me."

"Centrally located, helpful check-in staff who spoke perfect English. Room was clean and bathroom well stocked. Can be a bit noisy as it is next to the Trainline but nothing earplugs can't deal with."
