We are the new owners of a townhouse style condo just steps to the beach, at the Kihei Akahi in beautiful Kihei, Hawaii. Perfect for those looking for an ideal getaway located in paradise. We own three of the eight units available in the exclusive A Building. Our unit has two walk out lanais (top and bottom) to enjoy the spectacular sunsets.

Our air conditioned condo is just steps away from one of the most uncrowded and beautiful fine-sand beaches in Maui. Hale Kamaole Beach Park II has some of the best swimming and snorkeling anywhere. There is a lifeguard station on the beach, and tide pool area on the south side, teeming with crabs, starfish, etc. It's also a great place to snorkel.

Our Kihei Oceanfront Condo

Our two story unit is a spacious, 1175 sq. ft. with a top and bottom lanai a stones throw from the beach. Our condo has 2 bedrooms and 2-1/2 baths, and is fully equipped with linens, towels, dishes, etc.

We enjoyed our stay at Kihei Akahi. The unit is a bit outdated and could use some updates. Also the cleanliness could use some attention to detail. But overall it was fine. Would definitely stay again

Our second stay here…Beach across the street 🏖️, beautiful Sunsets 🌅, great food and shopping within walking distance. Check out The Cinnamon Roll Place…grab one and enjoy it while sitting on the beach. Thank You again for a wonderful stay, looking forward to our next visit!

From the moment we made our reservation to the day that we, sadly, had to leave, staying at Kihei Akahi A107, was a great decision. Everything we needed for cooking, playing or just relaxing was at our fingertips. We spent lots of time on the downstairs lanai pinching ourselves for our choice. We would go there again in a heartbeat!

Very comfortable accommodation, air conditioning worked well, beautiful ocean view. Everything worked perfectly until the dryer stopped on our last night. It was quite late when it happened, so I hope there was time to fix it before the next group came. We texted the manager, but didn’t hear back, so we can only assume it was taken care of. We would definitely stay here again, the whole experience was wonderful.

This was a great trip. The location of the property couldn't be beat. It was a minute walk to the beach. There were many restaurants within walking distance. There were beach chairs, an umbrella, towels, etc for use. I was a little disappointed in the cleanliness of the carpet on the stairs. The bathrooms could also use an update. However, it was a great stay. We would definitely come back.

Check in was not received until after check in time owner said his phone was dead. Manager did not return calls about issues from Wednesday to Saturday morning. I did a list of needed repairs and texted to both manager Scott on island and Tyler who is owner off island. It is okay amenities wise with great location and people who dont really seem to care

When we arrived the place smelled a little musty, like the place had not been opened for a while. It was spacious and the balcony and patio were awesome. We really liked the space, the rooms and multiple bathrooms. There were many things that could and should be updated. The most concerning was the dirty carpet on the stairs but the owner informed us that it was being replaced the day after we left. If there was even just some touch up painting done, it would really give the place a new look. We just felt that for the money, in comparison to another unit we had stayed in at the same resort, this was inferior due to being so outdated.

We just spent almost 3 weeks in this condo and it was definitely our home away from home. The unit was clean, comfortable furniture and just enough stuff to make use comfortable. It was great being able to park right outside the door to easily bring in groceries; the view from the upper balcony was breathtaking; and the a/c worked great. The only minor complaints was the dishwasher wasn't very good (ended up washing dishes by hand) and the fan in the back bedroom didn't spin very fast. Otherwise this was definitely a great condo and we will be back for sure!

This property was just as represented. The kitchen served our needs and we were right across the street from Kam2 Beach. We even used the pool. The owner was very responsive which helped when we had an AC issue. Note to others, make sure to close up the unit when leaving for day. The split AC units have a hard time catching up when the unit is hot. The owner was having the units recharged. We would definitely stay again.

This 2 bed 3 bath unit is older but functional and directly across the street from the beach. Convenient to shops and restaurants. Our commutation with the owner and on-island rep was terrible. We tried using the messaging in the app, emailing, texting... no response on 5 different occasions. I would consider staying at this resort again but not from this owner.

This unit is one of the front-facing units on the condo property. It’s the nicest place you can find in Kihei. One of a kind jewel with lots of room, right across the street from the beach. Gorgeous. We figured out you have to turn the knob for AC downstairs to set it to run for six hours, but we were also fine, even though we didn’t figure that out until day three. There was even Pickleball/tennis courts you can reserve and paddles you can check out from the front desk. Other people staying in the condo’s back buildings were jealous that we were in one of the six front showcase units.

We loved our time in this unit, was spacious and very comfortable for our family of 4. Appreciated having convenience of the laundry and the front desk did provide a complimentary bag of detergent when we got there. The air conditioning throughout the condo was amazing, kept everyone very comfortable in the heat. There was a very nice stock of beach items under the stair storage. The beach was just a short walk across the street and the pool was practically outside our condo, really central location. Artie the condo maintenance fellow was really great to work with on a couple things he needed to do in the condo and Tyler the owner was very easy to communicate and work with as well. We are planning our vacation here for next year already.

I liked the condo and was grateful that the floor was tile and easy to sweep up the sand we tracked in. Due to Covid restrictions we cooked the majority of our meals. I felt the kitchen supplies were lacking. There were 9 of us altogether at 3 different condos. When they came over I had to borrow 9 X 13 pans, cookie sheets etc. Also there were only a few kitchen trash bags, few dish washer soaps, 1 roll of paper towels, no aluminum foil, 3 coffee filters, 4 things of laundry detergent. I wish we were told to bring those things and that they weren't provided. I have stayed at Kathy McCartney's condo in the same complex. All were provided. The other two condo's my family rented had those supplies. Also wish there was more pool noodles not just one. Also boogie boards. The downstairs and spare bedroom air conditioners worked well. The master bedroom sometimes worked and sometimes didn't. I have to say though every day I looked out the windows and thanked God we were there. It is a lovely spot and a few changes would make the difference!

I will lead with I have reached out to the owner about our concerns and he did indicate he will be visiting the property soon and will address, so this post could be irrelevant after their visit at the end of the year. The condo is in a great location. Located across the street from beach with the rinse off station at the end of the parking area. Parking includes one reserved spot, and then we paid $5 a day for second spot. The visitor parking was never full in this little lot. The complex is clean, the staff in office was very friendly, and security posts up right outside of the unit each night. Negatives- Cleanliness- Upon entry the carpet on the stairs is in severe need of a cleaning or replacement (owner reply they are working on that, but having a hard time finding someone). My suggestion would be to at least try and clean the stairs in the meantime, it is a dirt path down the middle of carpet. We also noticed a partial fruit snack stuck in the carpet, like it was not vacuumed well or at all. The fan in master bath was completely full of dust, hair and dust bunnies in the rooms and bathrooms. Overall filthy conditions Maintenance- Missing fire alarm in the master, followed by most of the light and fan slides to turn on were missing, so you were using the slide by grabbing the metal sticks for the fan and lights. All walls were in need of paint. Sinks dripped. Disappointed in condition, but location made up for it. I hope the owner takes my information to heart.

This is an amazing complex, right across the street from an awesome beach and in walking distance to many restaurants and shops. This unit is one of the best because it faces the ocean and has fantastic views, including beautiful sunsets each evening. Ideally, it would get a bit of updating - interior paint, new carpet on the stairs, better bedding etc, but overall it's still a great place to stay on Maui. As for the owner’s lack of communication, it would have been nice if he; 1) Replied to my info request before I booked. 2) After booking, it was initially easier to communicate, and I spoke to him about possibly staying longer - he said that might be possible. When I reached back out to him over several days (via email and text to his personal cell) trying to finalize an extension, he did not reply. After frustratingly waiting several days, we gave up and made other arrangements. 3) A few days before our arrival, I again reached out twice asking about checking in a couple hours early due to our morning flight and the fact that the unit had been vacant for a couple days, meaning last minute cleaning was not a factor. Again, I did not hear back from the owner. After initially confirming our booking and deposit, the owner did not seem very interested in keeping in touch, making sure everything went smoothly for us or in showing the aloha spirit we expected after booking his Maui property. According to several other reviews, this is a disappointing pattern.

Overall, the property was great. We were within walking distance of stores, good restaurants, and mere steps to the beach (crosswalk to the beach was right at the complex entrance). The unit and complex were clean, well-kept and security was visibly present at night. The beach was perfect: fine / soft sand, lots of room, uncrowded, lifeguard present, reef on the edge for snorkeling (we saw turtles). The beach 'gear' in the unit closet saved us $ (4 chairs, 2 beach umbrellas, a soft-side and a hard-side cooler, 2 boogie boards, etc.). The stackable washer/dryer were surprisingly full-sized units. The beds were comfortable (it seemed like the mattresses were pretty new) and our teenage son said the sleeper/sofa was comfortable as well. There were a few inconveniences, but no major issues. The decor was somewhat dated (as pictures show) but the furniture was comfortable. The full bathrooms only had pedestal sinks...which was a little frustrating. There was zero counter space in the two upstairs bathrooms. They both had storage cabinets, but no place to put anything down (besides the back of the toilet). The complex’s rule against hanging towels, swimsuits, etc. on the lanai meant we had to hang stuff up inside. The 4-hour timer on the downstairs A/C was aggravating. It would turn-off in the middle of the night and while we were gone during the day. This wouldn't have been a big problem if the unit cooled down quickly. The A/C and ceiling fans can maintain a comfortable temperature, but it takes a long time to cool down if the A/C has been off for a while. The road noise is very noticeable, but it was really only an issue in the morning. The noise starts around 6am, and light sleepers (like me) will have a hard time staying asleep (or getting back to sleep if awakened). Taking into account the positives and negatives of this unit, we think the value for our $ was good and we would rent the unit again.
