"Fantastic rustic and rural getaway in Crete. Staff all extremely friendly and helpful, nothing was too big an ask. Everyone we met on the trip were also very friendly and kind. The resort itself is pretty faultless, every member of staff is super kind and friendly, they all looked after us so well from reception to restaurants. Food was fantastic at Rodies - probably the best meal we had as well as Sofas Taverna in old town Hersonissos. Cooking class was brilliant and well worth the money; wine tasting was very generous and we had a three-course meal. There's no huge international buffet or anything on mass scale, which for me I love! If you're not interested in the local culture it probably isn't for you as it's very traditional, tranquil and just the perfect rural holiday for a total switch-off. We'd love to be back. Pools were immaculately kept and very peaceful, even with the odd kids around (we did go in September so it was quieter). Never had to queue for anything and all maintained well, no drinks or food left lying around. The room is probably the only part which needs touching up, it's a little dated but also is a style thing - very Cretan and rustic. It was perfect for what we needed, though the bathroom was in need of a proper clean as we had some ants/dirt behind the door. Not a major issue as everything else was pretty much bang on! "

"The resort is truly five star and my stay included half board and was quite good. My ocean view suite was spacious and well appointed and maintained. The private sand beaches are quite nice there are four of them. The resort is very large with plenty of dining options which they provide a 30 euro discount. Had dinner at the Peruvian/Japenese restaurant and it was great. The service was very excellent overall, friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The lobby is dated and would truly benefit from a contemporary refresh, first impressions are important. There are very nice water sport offerings for an extra charge but reasonable. The gym is very nice there are a few, and you have quite a few pools to chose from. The location is paradise with sweeping views of the see and mountains. Upgrading your room is well worth it. Highly recommend for a relaxing time in Eastern Crete. A taxi into town Agios Nikolaus is 15 euros and 15 minutes. The town is very charming with plenty to do, shopping, dinning and bars. "

"We had a wonderful, relaxing holiday at Koutouloufari Village Holiday Club. The apartment was fantastic, the pool area was lovely and quiet and the location was amazing - there are so many great restaurants all within walking distance. Staff were attentive, friendly and couldn’t do more for you, the whole place completely exceeded our expectations. The breakfast was great, I’d recommend including this on booking as it’s expensive to pay daily. Can’t wait to come back, thank you!"

"When we arrived the service was great. Hotel was amazing the room was exactly the one I booked. Food was great in the restaurants but the prices are ridiculous.. I mean is this a Michelin star chicken wrap or what!? Either way it was great. The only thing that’s really annoying is that the hotel clearly says you cannot leave your swim towels on the beds to “claim” them. However people did this every morning. By 9am the poolside beds are taken … even though you can’t see anyone there, they all have towels on them. I guess people wake up and leave their towels and bags to claim the spot and then they go for breakfast. Hotel staff does nothing about this. In addition the riverside pool, ALL the beds by that pool are reserved for people that are staying in the bigger properties. Now this is really unfair. This means we cannot lay on those beds as someone can come at anytime and claim it.. so really how can I use any pool?? If this is the case the main pool should be reserved for people staying on that side of the hotel. But no, people have the riverside pool beds reserved but they also come to the main pool and take the beds… honestly it’s really annoying. We paid just as much but it seems that families have priority here. Upon leaving the service was very disappointing. There was staff I did not recognise but she seemed mad that I needed a transfer to the airport and no one said bye or the usual things hotel staff says during checkout. Her attitude was off. "
