GDM Megaron Historical Monument Hotel

"We had a very enjoyable stay at the GDM Megaron. Our junior suite, with its balcony overlooking the harbour, was a real highlight and offered beautiful views. The only minor drawback was the lack of a table and chairs on the balcony, which would have made it easier to sit and enjoy the view for longer. Breakfast offered an impressive variety of choices, while dinner was beautifully prepared. The menu was somewhat limited, but this was only a minor inconvenience, especially as the hotel’s central location meant that plenty of restaurants were within easy walking distance. We therefore enjoyed dining out on most evenings. The staff were consistently friendly and attentive, making us feel genuinely welcome throughout our stay. The rooftop pool was another pleasant feature, although its small size meant it could feel a little limited when several guests were using it. Overall, the GDM Megaron is a stylish hotel in an excellent location, with wonderful staff, comfortable accommodation and a lovely atmosphere. Despite the limited dinner menu and small rooftop pool, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting Heraklion."

"Great place to stay, friendly staff and management. Unfortunately had an issue with my ferry and missed a night of my stay but management was very helpful in trying to accommodate me. My only issue is that then hot water sometimes ran out in the shower and tap but the staff told me they were currently working on this issue which is reassuring. Great central location right near the centre of Heraklion"

"The hotel location is fantastic, very peaceful, with well kept and beautiful grounds. Food is excellent, staff and service equally so. Whilst the rooms are basic ours was very clean and the swim up pool, whilst shared with two other rooms, felt private. We had a wonderful ten days all inclusive, which was excellent value. We'd 100% return! Not a place to go if you're bothered about watching television 🙂"

"Wunderschöne Ferienwohnung direkt am MeerWir waren mit der Ferienwohnung rundum zufrieden. Sie ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und mit allem ausgestattet, was man für einen entspannten Urlaub braucht. Besonders toll ist die Lage: Das Meer ist keine 20 Meter entfernt und eignet sich direkt vor der Unterkunft hervorragend zum Schwimmen und Schnorcheln.Ein weiteres Highlight unserer Reise, der Listis Beach, ist mit dem Auto in weniger als 15 Minuten erreichbar.Besonders hervorheben möchten wir das gemeinsame Essen mit unseren Gastgebern Eleni und Kostas, die extra für uns gekocht haben. Das war eine sehr schöne und persönliche Erfahrung, an die wir uns gerne zurückerinnern werden.Bei Fragen oder Problemen war unsere Gastgeberin jederzeit erreichbar und sehr hilfsbereit. Auch für Familien mit Kindern ist die Wohnung bestens geeignet – es gibt Spielzeug und sogar ein separates Kinderzimmer.Alles in allem war es für uns ein rundum gelungener und erholsamer Urlaub. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und würden jederzeit gerne wiederkommen."
