"There were a lot of reasons I selected Waterfront Suites. Some worked out and some didn't. First, I didn't think Karon was as nice as Patong. The beach is covered with ratty umbrellas to rent, so the view is hideous. It ended up far from some activities, so plan activities and pick up based on what's ..."

Karon is family friendly! We have stayed in Patong before and never will again. Karon has lots of shopping and good food options. Good appropriate massage places (Apple Massage 1 the BEST!) I do wish Karon had better walking sidewalks.
