"Very fun hotel in the heart of Shinjuku. Our first hotel stay at beginning of a long trip, so we were sort of green. On arrival at Shinjuku Station, chose to walk with luggage to hotel. Very busy area, so not the best choice. Taxi may be better. LOTS of activity and restaurants within walking distance of hotel. Short walk to Golden Gai. The Godzilla head is easy landmark to find hotel from several angles. Unfortunately Godzilla wasn't roaring/spouting smoke when we were present and access to outside lounge near head was closed the entire stay. Lobby is small with limited seating. Only place to hang out is the hotel bar with limited appetizers, small drinks (expensive for pour size) and no outside food/drink allowed.
Godzilla theme throughout public areas (and in many rooms if booked) is lots of fun.
The room itself was very cramped. We wanted a king or queen, got two twins. The sink area in the bathroom had almost no counter space. The shower/bath was very nice (common arrangement in many Japanese hotels). No decaf coffee available in room (also common in Japan - be sure to bring your own if a decaf drinker, or rely on Starbucks). Elevator -- only one on our trip where room key selects the floor your on automatically, cool feature.
Staff were friendly, but we didn't interact alot.
Overall, for us, while a unique and fun setting, we would probably stay elsewhere if staying in Shinjuku again."
