Aquila Porto Rethymno

"Excellent hotel , four of us enjoyed an extremely pleasant seven days at the Aquila Porto. We had sixth floor beach-facing rooms - the rooms were a good size, bathroom was clean, air-conditioning a god-send, very quiet and easy to sleep at night. The beach across the road is well-kept, no problem securing sun loungers. Sea can be a bit choppy but that's not the hotel's fault! The Aquila Porto's two main selling points are (1) the food. Its not the largest buffet we'd ever seen but its by far/away the best. Great variety, all beautifully cooked, a real pleasure (2) the staff. all are extremely helpful and accommodating, service is first class. No real gripes at all - breakfast can get a bit busy, and the coffee maybe could be better, but overall a definite five star, ten out of ten experience. Highly recommended."

"Great location for a relaxing vacation. The staff were accommodating and made our stay extremely comfortable. The beach and restaurants are all top tier. Recommend if you are interested in relaxing on the beach, or going on excursions in the Chania area."

"A wonderful experience at the Syntopia. The staff were friendly and attentive without being formal or overpowering. As an example, the person on reception who checked us in remembered our room number a week later at check out! Had an amazing massage at the spa and made the most of the pool and roof top bar every day Food was fresh, tasty and varied every day"

"Everything was simply perfect. From the beautiful pool-access room to the exceptional kindness and hospitality of the staff, every detail felt special. The hotel manager personally walked us to the dining room on our first visit, and Nikos from one of the hotel’s impressive restaurants was absolutely amazing. The spa is also fantastic and even offers hairdressing services. Simply wow. If you’re visiting Crete, don’t miss the chance to stay at OROS. An unforgettable experience!"

"Hotel easy to find, next to large supermarket on a main road, a mile from the cross island route. Some parking, 3 allocated spaces and then on street parking nearby Has a lift but some stairs involved for most rooms. Room was a 2 room apartment with a large lounge/kitchen area, with a large Smart TV, oven, hob and fridge. Balcony off each room, large shower room, and plenty of storage space. Complimentary breakfast was good. Pool area limited, not enough sunbeds and begins to lose sun from about 3pm. Staff were pleasant and helpful. 100yds from the massive beach and its safe promenade full of bars and restaurants leading to town, about a mile away. The main road option I would avoid on foot, parked cars and busy junctions."
