It was awfully packed over the full moon weekend (would not recommend visiting during this period)! This pavilion-like structure at the front Paththirippuwa, or Octagon. It is a symbol of identity in Kandyan Architecture. In the olden days, the king would stand there to address his citizens who were gathered in front of him. The golden roof behind stands over the Buddha tooth relic that this temple is famous for. Unique home near Kandy railway station. Friendly owner giving practical tips and arranging transport to the station. Delicious breakfast at the terrace with beautiful view on the city and surroundings.

I loved Pearl House Kandy! It was a short climb up the hill, but transport was managed well by the lovely Sri Lankan owners who listened to every comment and small complaint. It was close to town. The room was spacious and clean with a lovely view over the city. Breakfast was served for a very reasonable price.

Cannot say enough good things about our stay at Pearl House. Both hosts were amazingly welcoming and made us feel right at home by giving us recommendations and tips for getting around. Property may feel long away from the centre but they advised a short cut that made the walk only 10 minutes. Also, the room had AC and a fan which was ideal after hiking all day. Will definitely stay again if visiting Kandy.

Nice place, friendly couple own it. It is up a big hill, take the taxi the first time, the owner will show you the short cut which is easier than the road. Basic room, no AC but the fan was enough when I was there.

Pearl was a great little place on the side of the mountain near the train station in Kandy. The property is clean, quiet and safe and the sitting area is a place where you could zone out and spend hours reading or just enjoying the view. it is a short walk down to the main streets of Kandy where local restaurants and cafes etc are everywhere. The manager and his wife are very helpful and serve a great breakfast. Be sure you know how you are getting here. Tuktuk or walking WITH google maps are the only options the first time. Its charm is isolation near the city, but the first time you go there can be confusing.

Leider war das hier unser schlechteste Unterkunft. Wir hatten das Gefühl der aufgesetzten Freundlichkeit und leider wurde auch ein Ausblick auf die Stadt suggeriert, den es so nicht gab. Von unserem Balkon aus konnten wir auf eine Bauruine oder auf Bäume schauen. Überall gab es Verbotsschilder, was man alles nicht machen darf, nichts hierhin stellen oder dort ablegen …. Die Zimmer waren sauber und ordentlich.

Il faut appeler un chat: un chat. Ce n'est pas un hotel, c'est une chambre chez l'habitant. Il n'est pas situé à 10mn du centre ville comme indiqué: même en courrant on n'y arrive pas; je ne vous parle pas du retour, les tuk-tuk ne connaissent pas, ce n'est pas géolocalisé et si vous en trouvez un il n'arrivera pas à monter la côte tellement elle est raide, et votre porte monnaie en souffrira. La vue sur la "montagne" donne sur les toits ondulés des autres maisons . La vue sur la vallée n'est plus que partielle, un enorme chantier à l'abandon en cache une grande partie. Aucun réseau wifi (durant notre présence) malgré les affirmations du patron. Propre et au calme mais pas d'eau chaude. De plus on vous demandera de ne pas gaspiller l'électricité.... En bref, il y a bien mieux en ville.

眺めの良いホテル

バスターミナルから、近いですが、かなりの坂を上がります。大きなスーツケースを持ってだと、キツいと思います。ホテルスタッフより、行き方のメールを頂いていたので迷わず行けましたが。 上がった分だけ、眺めは最高です。こんなところで、何日もゆっくり過ごしたいと思える場所です。部屋も清潔で可愛らしかったです。 雨が降っていたので、傘を貸して頂き、スタッフも親切でした。

We were only at Pearl house for 1 night, but it was a comfortable night. The house owners are really friendly & ever so helpful. They helped us sort out our onward travel. We had a really tasty breakfast.

Lovely family run guest house

We had a great stay here, our room was very clean and had a nice 4 poster bed. There’s a nice communal lounge area with good views of the city. And the owners were lovely. Definitely recommend.

Pleasant Place in Kandy

Nice quiet place up in hill. Short walk to bus station (easy only if without lugguage). Can see Kandy City Centre Lake and Tooth Relics Temple from the balcony in the shared area outside the room. Plenty of birds in the surrounding in early morning. Friendly and helpful owner.

The house is a bit up-hill. Better take a local taxi to drive you there. The host gave me a shortcut to walk down to the main road which is much convenient and fast for down-hill. This is a homestay, the host is living on the ground floor and 3 guestrooms on the second floor. I do love the common area upstair very much. Sit down with a cup of tea to relax for a whole day is the best moment in the house. The room is clean and comfortable. Though hot water seems not very work but still fine for the warm weather. I took the breakfast here which is incredible. The homemade curry is super tasty and unforgetable. I do love it a lot. The host is super nice couple, like grandparent. We talk a bit during breakfast time. It make me feel like home. Will recommend this house definitely.

Lovely stay, the hosts are very sweet and are happy to give you directions and help with whatever you need. Be aware, breakfast is 5USD, which we weren’t told and got a nasty surprise at the end of the stay. Otherwise a nice place.

Amazing home stay!!

It was amazing! The family treated us wonderfully. The room was beautiful and the view from the balcony was jaw dropping. Great wifi, great home made breakfast and for such a great price. I couldn't recommend this place enough.

Great value for money. Hosts are very welcoming. Great views from the balcony. Without A/C room got very warm and if you don't like climbing a hill you'll have to get a tuk tuk back. Breakfast very nice if not a little expensive. Not sign posted so follow the signs to the hotel Hill top past their barrier and down to Pearl House
