We loved our stay at Kandy Shady Trees thanks to the very welcoming and accommodating nature of our hosts. The room we stayed in was large and very comfortable and breakfast was fresh and substantial. The location is up a steep hill (we took a tuk tuk up and down it) but could be walked. Views from the property were great and it was in close proximity to central Kandy and many worth visiting sites. Our host also accommodated us by driving us to local sites for a very reasonable fee. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, a safe driver and spoke great English. The only (small) thing the room didn't have, or at least, we couldn't get to work, was the hot water. The room was also missing soap. But, all in all, small things and we got by fine.

親切なファミリーと自然豊かなホテル

山の上にある小さなホテルで、とても親切なファミリーが営んでいます。自然豊かな場所で、可愛いお猿さん達が部屋の屋根や目の前の木や電線の上を歩いたりする様子、また色々な鳥を間近で見れ、とっても癒されました。都市部ではなかなか経験できないことなので素敵な思い出になりました。 キャンディ湖周辺からホテルまではトゥクトゥクで200〜350ルピーで行けました。傾斜がかなりあるので徒歩で登るのは結構大変です。ホテルから下る分には徒歩でも大丈夫でした。 お湯の出はあまり良くはありませんがお値段のことを考えると十分です！たぶん髪が長くなければ大丈夫です。(女性1人旅で1週間滞在)

Terrible place

I usually don't write reviews but I had to write so that service can be improved. Hot shower not working properly ,wifi not working and the worst thing ....I got bed bugs.. I hope it will be improved in the future.

Awful Experience-Dirty Residence

From the beginning, there were red flags! The owner did not answer any of my phone calls or messages through Orbitz for our free transfer from the train station. Do not be fooled, the free transfer is NOT from Colombo Airport it is from Kandy Airport. Lack Of Communication: After contacting him for two days, I finally received an answer as we were boarding the train from Colombo - I proceeded to tell him the time we were arriving, he agreed to pick us up- once we arrived he was a no-show. We ran into a very nice Tuk Tuk driver that soon explained to us that the owner is disorganized and "not good at his business". After calling another 5 times, the Tuk Tuk driver offered to call him - he soon arrived in an old van to pick us up. Poor Room: We weren't expecting anything amazing with the low rate but we were expecting a clean room with bed sheets. Even that was too much to ask for. The room was filthy, filled with bugs due to him leaving the windows open at night. We had to ask for bed sheets, we were given 2 twin size fleece blankets, we also had to ask for 2 new pillowcases as the initial ones received were so dirty the white design was almost black. Ants infested all over! Interaction with Staff: We basically only had interaction when we returned or left the home never asking if we needed anything, never offered to get us a tuk tuk. His recco's were not safe for westerners IE. walking through dark streets! I'm shocked this was available on Orbitz with 5-star reviews

名前の通り木陰にあり、涼しく快適なホテル。 オーナーもフレンドリーで、顧客のことをいつも考えていることが伝わってくる。 朝食がおいしい。 値段も非常に安く、ロケーションも最高で仏歯寺から車で10分未満。 (this hotel is located under the shade of trees as it was named and comfortable. The owner is very friendly and always think how he makes his guests happy. The breakfast tastes good! While the price is good, the location is also so good less than 10 minutes away from tooth temple by car)

Shady Trees villa is a must!!

Beautiful, peaceful and homely. Quietly set up in the trees away from the busy streets of Kandy, extremely welcoming family who were more than happy to assist with any enquiries and gave us some good sight seeing tips. Well worth a stay here if you are needing some timeout from hotels. Delicious breakfast served on the terrace overlooking Kandy

Cosy homestay in the mountains

Nice newly renovated and spotless clean room. Very helpful and friendly owner that can help with tours and transports to the town. Good breakfast and excellent coffee (best in Sri Lanka) selfgrown in the garden. It was a little chilly at night in the mountains but just ask for an extra blanket. Had a wonderful home made dinner one night.
