Ambiance was very romantic with live local music playing during the day and at night. Lots of beaches and areas to explore and enjoy the beauty of the landscaping. Plenty of activities and different places to eat. But hands down, the employees are what put this place over the top. Very genuine! And they took excellent care of us which made it a very special experience. Love this place.
Absolutely perfect stay! Gorgeous property, Aloha spirit amongst all the staff with personalized concierge experience, out of this world snorkeling and sea life on the beach of the property, free snorkeling rentals, and lots of perks like kids eat free and daily complimentary cocktails. Our party of 8 ranging from 4 to 72 loved every minute here.
Stayed here in June and it was amazing. The staff were so nice and personable! Not too bougie at all. The amenities were amazing and I’m certain we didn’t take full advantage of them all. We’ll definitely be back.
Beautiful property with many thoughtful features - free bottled waters, kids eat free, complimentary snorkel gear and stand up paddle boards, complimentary 9-hole golf for kids, complimentary bikes, complimentary shuttle and more.
This is an impeccable property. The staff are all excellent, knowledgeable and very helpful. Access to snorkeling, bikes, and water. Activities is superb. And the property is very well-maintained.
We had a great experience from check in through check out. Our room was upgraded at check in to a room with an ocean view and we were given fresh lei’s. Our room key was in the form of a waterproof bracelet so we didn’t have to worry about carrying a card with us. The resort was beautiful. We enjoyed the pool and had wonderful service poolside. What we didn’t expect was how great the snorkeling was off the beach that is about a 10 minute walk from property. We had dinner at the restaurant on their property, the Canoe House. We reserved a table there well in advance and was the original reason we decided to stay at this resort. The head chef was the winner of the most recent season of Top Chef. The staff was helpful throughout the stay. Whenever we looked like we needed help, one of the staff would stop and give us information. They offered both self and valet parking. We chose self park because we wanted easy access to our car and it was convenient. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay here again on another trip to the big island.
Absolutely gorgeous property with a perfect beach view and beach walking path along the property. It has a perfect beach with sea turtles and nice snorkeling. really good food and restaurants.. only thing that was meh, was that the pool service doesn’t start till 11am. you can swim before that, but you can’t order drinks and have the good service until after 11am. This hotel has 3 pools and a nice spa w an ocean view. One of the pools is adult only pool so that’s nice if you’re not with kids. Golf is great corse w stunning views. We did both.

Amazing 10/10. Beautiful property. Excellent service and food. Many activities. Absolutely would go back.
Amazing facilities, shops, beach access, bike route around Waikoloa. The whole area is serene, quiet, beautiful - not crowded with touting stores like nearby Kona. And overall resort design is beautiful and functional - is full of open areas to hang and still have tranquility. Full of marine life at the lagoon.
The whole experience at Mauna Lani was top-notch. Food is terrific (especially Canoe House; fabulous meal and service!), hospitality was warm and welcoming, the room was clean and comfortable with an incredible view, the golf courses and pools and beach amenities were five-star, and the overall vibe was relaxing and posh without being pretentious. Excited to return…hopefully soon!
Beautiful property with helpful and attentive staff. The hotel grounds were well kept and we even found some great walking paths (in both directions) from the beach. The beach itself is a little rocky but but very beautiful to snorkel from and we saw such beautiful fish and many sea turtles!
We also appreciated the well stocked market for coffee, snacks and gifty items. We did not use the spa, but it smelled wonderful on our way to the gym. The Goop store is an excellent touch and the hotel boutique had a great selection of mens and women's bathing suits, hats, sunglasses, totes, jewelry, dresses and purses. They had a small section for kids.
The closest mall 'nearby', where the Tommy Bahama restaurant was, is not worth going to unless you need a grocery store. Most retail stores were for rent. There was another shopping area near Waikoloa (Kings and Queens market) with lot's of options and the famous Shave Ice!
Note - we did not make restaurant reservations prior to arriving, and we paid the price. We either had zero availability at places we wanted to go, or got stuck with unfavorable time options. It all worked out fine, but we had three dinner meals at their beach bar (which does have a famous chef behind it) - the food was delicious! *Definitely make a Canoe House resy a month or few weeks out. Merriman's is another to get into.
