This destination home is in the seat of horse country in the beautiful town of Kamuela/Waimea. This A-frame challet home has spectacular views of Mauna Kea and the verdant green, rolling hills of paniolo (hawaiian cowboy) country. Cozy up to the wood burning stove on cool Waimea nights. This lush wonderland is on the outskirts of Parker Ranch. Amenities include washer, dryer, full-service home with new, quality appliances.

Local farmers markets are on Wednesdays and Saturdays in Kamuela town. This residence is 25 minutes from the beautiful white sand beaches of world-famous Mauna Kea and Hapuna. Kahilu Theater in Kamuela town features world class seasonal entertainment. There are fabulous golfing options on the island and many horseback riding opportunities near-by. Amazing property and the host was reachable if you had any questions. The view of Mauna Loa was so clear and viewable from the property and the neighborhood was very quiet and friendly. We loved our stay at the Horse House. We thought it was perfect for our family and had everything you would ever need to make a vacation pleasant and comfortable. Will go back again!

Comfortable house in a residential neighborhood convenient to Waimea and many other places on the Big Island. The house was well provisioned and was a great place to hang out between excursions. Two grocery stores and many good restaurants nearby. Would recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay in Kamuela. The home is very easy to find and has all of the comforts of home with a touch of ALOHA. We highly recommend staying here and appreciated the goodies in the fridge and on the kitchen counter!! We would love to stay here again when time permits.

We loved staying at the this lovely Waimea property. This was the most well appointed vacation rental we have ever rented. We really appreciated the well stocked kitchen that had everything we needed. We rented a condo at one of the resorts after we left The Horse House that was more expensive, and not nearly as stylish, and they didn’t even provide coffee filters. We would definitely rent this beautiful, clean and comfortable home again.

The stay here was excellent! Located in the Waimea area, this location provided great access to hike Mauna Kea, visit beaches along the Kohala coast and enjoy Waimea itself. Lise was very responsive in communicating with us when needed. The house is clean and stocked with kitchen needs. What a great find for us!

We were on Hawaii Island for a family birthday / luau. With us were family members who had never been to Hawaii before. Lio Ka Hale was perfect for our needs. Lise was very responsive to any questions. We had everything we needed, including a toolbox, which came in very handy for repairing a wheel chair we brought with us! Wonderful time and location was perfect. Beautiful views from the property. All the necessary amenities that you could ask for. We came up to stay for a week for my birthday, and were not disappointed. Very easy to travel down to the sandy beaches, and central to getting to Hilo and Kona if needed. Wonderful restaurants in Waimea when we didn’t use the stocked kitchen. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location with a wonderful owner who provides a great house. House is located at just above 3000 feet so it has cool evenings and warm days. We have stayed there multiple years for the month of June. House is very clean and well kept. The house sits in a neighborhood with many families, off the beaten path for tourists so it is quiet. It has a great view of Mauna Kea along with the pastures in the valley.

The property was equipped with everything needed. Kitchen was fully equipped and additionally supplied was Coffee and spices. Beds were very comfortable. All supplies were available inside the house. The garage had coolers and beach chairs for day trips. That was a bonus. The neighborhood was very quiet. The altitude of Waimea was very comfortable, since it cools down during the night. Great views from the house towards Mauna Kea. The communication with Lise was very professional and timely. Highly recommend this quiet place and the nice host.

Our family of 4 enjoyed our stay at the horse house. Since my daughter has loved horses her whole life, the decor was appreciated. Spectacular view of the Mauna Kea. We enjoyed a very clean house with comfortable beds and cool temperatures, much cooler than at the Kohala beaches. I always like staying at a rental with a grocery store nearby which there is here, about 5 minute drive away. Beaches are about a 25 minute drive. We also went horseback riding about 30 minutes away at Paniolo Adventures which was wonderful. The neighbor's barking dog everytime we went out to the the driveway was annoying, but hard to control that situation.
