"Its a dead town..nothing special. No one goes to islands. Hotel is totally rundown. Bed, bath and room is bad. Room grown with spider web, lizards nest and ants nest. Have not seen cockroach yet. Reception is quite friendly though. Hotels.com info is absolutely outdated. Used to be a transit hotel for those going to/from the islands"

"It was quite dissapointing that we were late for check-in, but there was not anyone from hotel staff that would have contacted us to keep in the touch. In fact, when we were about an hour journey to arrive at the hotel, the receptionist called to let us know that she'll be out of shift soon and will just leave the room key by the reception counter. I find this very rude as a customer to be treated this way. The hotel management itself should have a replacement staff for the shift changing time...

"Stayed in hotel after arriving too late to travel onwards to the islands. Check in was fine, but room itself was in a poor condition, with facilities very run down. The sheets and towels were dirty. Breakfast was delivered to our room in the morning, which was a nice touch, but unfortunately was not particularly appetising. We were interested in seeing whether there was somewhere in the area where we could get a drink, but were told that nowhere would be open (it was only ~8pm, so found this...

It is slightly more expensive but worth it in our opinion. Breakfast with the room was also great, fresh roti canai were really nice. Staff - super welcoming and friendly, especially Cel, who really made sure we were looked after the entire stay. Facilities - great quiet location, with snorkelling right off the beach, easy access to hiking path and other trips. Only hotel with an infinity pool on the island too, which we used to cool off at the end of each day!"
