"We were excited about booking this property when reading the posting. When we arrived later in the evening we found the only way to the front door was crossing a rickety, rotted out deck with nails sticking up all over. The strong odor of musty/mold greeted us when we opened the door. Host told us to just open some windows. Then we found there was a ladder type stairs to go up to the sleeping area. We are in our 70’s and can’t do stairs due to back and knee problems. But it was not listed in the posting that there would be stairs, or even a second floor. So we could not stay there because of that. Plus, we found clothes still in the washer and the floors looked as though they had not been swept since the last occupants. We were in the place not more than 5 min. Called the host. He was not happy we wanted a refund. On such short notice , it was now 8pm, we then had to locate another place to stay and lost a day of vacation having to locate and relocate lodging, since no place could lodge us for 4 straight nights. We have had to fight to get a little tiny refund. Having to pay out twice for lodging for the same 4 day vacation does not make us happy. We have never before given a negative review. We have lost our trust in VRBO. Don’t ever want to repeat this experience."
