They are friendly, helpful, and polite, and will assist with anything you need help with. Check in and check out were super easy, and room was cleaned each morning. We had never stayed here before, but were left impressed by Rihga Royal Hotel Niihama."

"Good location and price but it is really 3 star service and amenities. No communal bath, no info in Japanese or English about the huge festival, big but basic breakfast. Recheckin required for extension."

"We stayed at Awaikeda ekimae-shop as we planned to do rafting at beautiful Yoshino river. We stayed at Awaikeda honmachi which is a private house but ekimae-shop has 5 rooms and toilet and showers are all shared. The place is basic but clean. We were 6 of us, sleeping on futon on tatami floor in one room. Am glad that our children experienced a proper Japanese sleeping style!"
