"Friendly staff and facilities at the hotel are good. Nearest beach is a rocky beach. Last few KM of the road leading to the hotel is very poor. This section needs to upgrade and possibly out of hotel managements' control. They may need to coordinate with the neighboring hotels and the local authority. However, signs leading to the hotel from the main road is not very clear. Google maps lead to a circuitous route. Need to upgrade the signs leading to the hotel in every junction and this is under hotel management. "

"Amazing stay, even extended twice. The service is second to none, everything is no problem. From the amazing view of the sea to all the varied wildlife in the grounds, posse of monkeys visit every day drinking from the pool and generally being monkeys to peacocks, a mongoose, frogs, all the birds. Nick the owner is a friendly chap and clearly set the ethos of this place and is always around to help if needed. Kalpa and Umesh (managers) are great, absolute credit to the place. Can’t say a bad word, if we are back to Sri Lanka then a visit here will be on the cards again. We had 2 rooms, both great, outdoor showers, very clean, air con, amazing views over the lagoon, comfy beds. Best place we stayed in Sri Lanka, only left as we had plans. The beach is 2 min walk away past all the hermit crabs, we saw baby turtles going into the sea one evening just before they close the beach due to conservation. We then went another night with the turtle conservation next door and witnessed a turtle laying eggs. This place has it all."

"My wife and I had an amazing stay for our honeymoon. The location is so peaceful, with the beach behind the hotel being so beautiful. The food prepared at the hotel was simply stunning! We had a daily set menu with choices, and the menu was great, food portions were generous and tasted amazing. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The only slight negative about this place is the wifi is very temperamental (not always a bad thing). It can feel a little sleepy through the day, but if you’re looking for undisturbed peacefulness, this place is perfect!"

"We had a fantastic 6 night stay at Surf N Spice, the guys who run the place are amazing. They made our trip so easy and relaxing. Huge comfy room with excellent aircon and a nice balcony to sit and relax on. The breakfast they serve as incredible, best we have had in 6 months travelling. It's exciting that they are constantly developing and improving the property including a new cafe which was nearly finished when we left and looked great. Lots to do in the area including 2 different beaches within easy walking distance, one very big and relaxed, the other great for surfing and a busier vibe. Lots of great cafes and restaurants within a few minutes walk and a few minutes further you can walk to the main town with shops, ATM, etc. Overall a fantastic stay, we highly recommend Surf N Spice."
