"To the property…please put 4 pillows on a queen bed instead of 3. With 2 occupants, one of us gets left with a single flat pillow😞 To travelers, bring an extra pillow if possible. "

Cedar Motor Inn

Cedar Motor Inn

"The lobby is very cute. I think half of the hotel is remodeled but the side we stayed on was not. It was not very clean and no one cleaned the room during our two night stay. There were cobwebs and pealing paint in the bathroom and the carpet has seen better days. The sheets also had stains on them. The pool and hot tub looked nice. The breakfast was nice and the area for breakfast was very clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. A bit overpriced for the state of the room."

"The place is very clean. Centrally located in the Upper Peninsula, we were able to visit quite a few things during our time there. It was also quiet in the evening so that we could enjoy our time together. The host was easily accessible. We will definitely stay again if we find ourselves up there again."

Endless Summer and Cool Winter on Big Shag Lake in Gwinn, Michigan with Sauna

10/10 Excellent
"We absolutely loved our stay! The home was spotless, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed. The kitchen was especially well equipped, making it easy to prepare meals throughout our stay. The property is perfect for a summer getaway. We brought our boat and had no trouble launching it at the public boat launch just a quarter mile down the road. There was plenty of room in the driveway for both our truck and boat trailer. The shed was an unexpected bonus, stocked with yard games, kayaks, and everything needed for outdoor fun. We had excellent fishing, catching pike, bass, bluegill, and sunfish. The shallow water off the dock made it fun to watch schools of bluegill swimming beneath us, and it was a great area for swimming and relaxing. The wood-fired sauna was a unique experience, and the owners provided plenty of firewood. Evenings spent on the beautiful back deck watching the sunset were one of the highlights of our trip. The landscaping and yard are gorgeous, creating a peaceful, quiet, and serene setting. The home offered plenty of space for everyone to gather while also providing room to spread out. There are four bedrooms total, with three cozy loft bedrooms featuring an open design. Having three full bathrooms made the home especially comfortable and convenient for our group. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. It’s the perfect combination of relaxation, recreation, and comfort. We would absolutely stay here again"
