The George Hotel in Montrose has a lovely, homely atmosphere, although the rooms are a little dated and could benefit from some modernisation.
Finding my room involved navigating a maze of stairs, corridors and doors, but once I arrived, I was pleased to find a clean, comfortable and well-presented room, complete with tea and coffee-making facilities.
The room was initially very cold, but after switching on the heating, it quickly warmed up to a comfortable temperature.
Although I didn't dine at the hotel myself, I heard positive comments about the food from other guests.
The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout my stay, which added to the overall experience.
Another welcome bonus is the free off-road parking, which is a great convenience and certainly adds to the hotel's appeal.
Despite the slightly dated decor, the hotel offers a comfortable and pleasant stay with a welcoming atmosphere. I would happily stay here again without hesitation."
