"It was what I look for in a place to stay. Staff was great room was very clean and the continental was really good. It was everything I look for in a hotel. My husband and I just retired after 30 years. We worked at a State Resort Park in Ky. So we really look at how maintained and the cleanliness of the facilities. Continental breakfast was replenished. It just was a really good experience."

"Good stay for the price. There is no elevator, so be prepared to walk up some stairs if you're not staying on the first floor. Our beds were some of the coziest I've slept in and the room and bathroom were very clean. Had a good experience overall as a one night stop off."

"We had a good stay. Our only negative was that the rooms have very little room noise privacy. We could hear hear everything from their electric toothbrush to the multi hour “only fans session”. Good for them, but glad we did not have children with us."

"The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Very disappointed that the pool is closed and may take some time to reopen. The property is owned by the state so renovations are highly needed! The staff is great! The beach location is top-notch for that area. I would definitely go back again, but not until the pool reopens! did not try the restaurant. We were too late for breakfast! Very close vicinity to Gurnee Mills, shopping and antique centers! Looking forward to our next stay!"

"The staff were so nice! The rooms and bathroom were so clean. The building is a little older but everything was in good shape. Free WiFi use and the air conditioner worked perfectly. The price was also fair. It was 90 dollars and a 50 dollar deposit fee but you get the 50 dollars back in your account after 5 days."

"I would not recommend this hotel. The ceiling above the shower was coming down, the towel holder in the bathroom was falling off the wall, the new flooring didn’t reach behind the toilet, a picture was removed from above the bed but the metal clips were still hanging there. And the batteries died in the card device of our room door so our security cards wouldn’t work. It was a Sunday and maintenance doesn’t work on the weekends. The front desk had to use a makeshift wire and string to feed under...

"This was a very nice place in downtown. The building is one of the prettiest in the area. It’s also across the street from an ice cream shoppe. The lobby and rooms were decorated with eclectic furniture and a cool vibe. There’s a small cafe inside, next to the lobby, with great sandwiches and coffees. The lighthouse and beach are nearby. Great stay!"

"The place was shut down when we arrived and had to look for a room at 10pm in the night. I received no notification on this and lost my reward points not very happy about this. They could of had called and let people know because was not to only one standing outside wondering what to do."

"We honestly expected better. The facility overall is in need of maintenance. The sidewalk immediately outside main entrance is broken, uneven concrete which presents an unsafe walking surface. Parking was well lit and abundant. We arrived at 4:30 pm, a full hour and a half past the advertised check-in time, and were assigned a room which had not been cleaned yet. "We were never able to check in. We arrived at the motel at 6:30pm. No one was available to check us in. There was a sign posted outside the office saying that check in was only from 3 to 4pm. We lost the money we had paid for the room, and had to find another hotel to stay in. A drug addict who was staying in one of the rooms was wandering around in the parking lot. He scared my wife."

"We stayed on the first floor and there was an unusually large number of loud door closings late into the evening and early morning hours. The shower was a large handicapped accessible one which was fine except for the fact that quite a bit of water leaks out onto the bathroom floor and so more towels really needed to prevent yourself from slipping and falling. "The staff were absolutely amazing and the housekeeping did such a wonderful job on cleaning the rooms!!!"

"The shower don’t really work we have problems with the toilet. The front desk said that they would give us another room and then claimed they were full when the whole thing was basically empty. The walls are so thin you could hear your neighbors conversations. I obviously wouldn’t recommend anybody stay here unless you’re desperate and on a budget"
