"I was surprised check in was at 4pm instead of 3. Check in was at another property. The accommodation itself was lovely. It has the wood smell that I like very much. Although it is split into two units, each room has its own digital lock. The only downside is that because it is an old house, the sound proof is not done well. I could hear my next door neighbour quite clearly."
"Had an excellent stay at 4S STAY Awaikeda Ikeda Onsenyoko. Facilities were new and very clean, rooms are of adequate sizes. It was also very close to the station and was easy to locate."
"The best thing about this place is the natural hot springs mineral bath. The hotel is clean, well kept and the service is great. The downside is the location. The only reason to go here is the mineral hot springs bath or on business. Public transportation is an extreme challenge with this location for foreigners! Taxis don’t operate on any of the major apps so if you don’t speak fluent Japanese to call and request one, you are at the mercy of finding someone to help you. Secondly, the Kawanoe station is so remote that is could not use the Suica card app to exit the station, which locked up my app until I traveled somewhere else where it could be manually fixed. Unfortunately I think my first trip to Shikokuchuo will be my only trip."
"It wasn't clearly stated that the room comes with a shared bathroom rather than a private one, which caught me by surprise. A key detail like that should be explicitly listed in the room title."
