"Beautiful setting! For being in a car-centric area it’s not too far from the train/bus. There’s a huge new roadside stop with restaurants, gift shop, and other amenities next door. Lots of overnighters in their vans there - adds to the safety in the area. A PLANT right next door for shopping and the city park across the street. Amazing!"

"Stayed here in Spring, which I suspect is a whole different ballgame to Winter. Location was great as we did not have a car. As others note it’s a steep hill to walk up but it’s not long. With many restaurants closed at this time of year having breakfast onsite and the option of buffet dinner at the restaurant was brilliant. The hot baths were great too. The rooms themselves were a little tired and basic however the beds were comfortable and the property was quiet. We did hire a car for 24 hours to get to see the snow monkeys (recommendation for "
