Being a small boutique hotel you feel the personalized service from the very friendly staff and especially the manager Mr Alp. The free breakfast they offer is adequate and very fresh and tasty.

Cozy hotel with some improvements to make

Nice little hotel in good location. Very comfortable beds. The only downside is the nosie coming from the street - to some degree expected given the location but still. Breakfast could have been better.

Room was comfy, modern, clean. Staff friendly enough. Tip - book a room facing the city, not the back of the hotel. There are bars and a club making noise until 2am. Breakfast - very limited.

Staff could not have been more helpful. Breakfast was combo of expected foods and interesting fruits; plenty and fresh in rooftop terrace with view thru to blue mosque and aya Sophia. Rooms were much smaller than photos suggest, but comfortable and good showers/towels. Coffee in room is good. We were on first floor street front; LOTS of street noise every night thru till 3-5am. If back again I’d ask for higher floor (there is an elevator) and rear of building

We really loved our stay at this hotel. Very clean, fantastic staff and great location.(Close to all the shops and restaurants, and only a 10 min walk to the metro) We had a simple but yummy breakfast every morning on the upper level with amazing city views. Room was a good size, lots of closet space, premium tv channels, modern fixtures and amenities. Safe and mini fridge. Daily housekeeping. The only downside is that it can be quite noisy outside, especially on Saturdays. If you sleep light or want a quiet space then this hotel is not for you. Fortunately, it wasn’t an issue for us. We’d go back again for sure.

This is a very small property in the middle of Taksim. I decided to book this hotel because of the outstanding reviews it got on Hotels.com. There are about two rooms per floor that are connected by a stairwell and a small elevator. The rooms were clean and well appointed. The breakfast was modest but enough. BUT THE NOISE. My room faced a bar that went until about 2 am, and I wasn't able to sleep at all. I also asked for a late check out, but the hotel couldn't accommodate me. It's a good place, its location is convenient, but not as amazing as the reviews made me think it was.

I really loved Gentle Tom. The staff there are super nice and welcoming. It's a small hotel decorated beautifully with interesting art on the walls and a lovely area for breakfast or sitting in with a view over the old city. I loved my room, so cosy and clean, I just wanted to hang out in there. Just off the Iskital street and minutes away from the many art and craft shops of Galata, the hotel is ideally located. The only downside may be having a street facing window on a Saturday night - people seem to enjoy playing loud music from cars well into the small hours (not a problem otherwise, I barely heard the cars not playing loud music). Despite that, I checked out very reluctantly as I was really enjoying my room. I was very grateful to the team there for sorting me out with an airport transfer - they use a particular taxi driver rather than the VIP cars, which was far more affordable and nicer (the driver stopped quickly to buy water for me, unasked, and then asked if I wanted a coffee too for the drive!) I'd stay there again for sure.

The new small hotel with a lot of character. Very good if you'are bored by the all standart offering from hotels around the world. Roof of the hotel was very nice breakfast variety was amazing. Run and staffed by lovely people Very well located next to multiple restaurants and bars, and easy to access everywhere either walking or public transports.

Beautiful boutique hotel, brand new. Rooms are small but very clean and beautifully designed. Towels and bedding - superb quality. Front desk employees are friendly and helpful. Location is excellent, if you want to stay near Taksim square and Istiklal street. Fresh light breakfast is included. If you prefer unique hotels to cookie-cutter properties with no personality, it’s definitely your place to stay.

A great place in the heart of Istanbul

I do love everything about this hotel. Building and it's staff are so elegant. They are able to make you feel relaxed anytime. Breakfast is excellent for it's incredible variety and freshness and for you can have it untill 11 am (great idea guys) a hotel with great in-house facilities, a restaurant on the terrace floor that has almost become active. Cafe bar on the ground floor that opens to a very lively street. Thanks for everything.

Alp & Mehmat were extremely nice and available at all hours! My room had a cute sea view and was really lively in terms of colours and textures. Was also quite was spacious. The breakfast itself was great!! I got fresh ammazing eggs!! But did not quite like the long alley that leads to it. I wish they opened at other area’s also like besiktas etc. i had a great time staying here!!

We had an amazing stay!

Everything was perfect in this lovely new hotel! I knew the neighbour from my previous visits to Istanbul (and I reconfirm Beyoglu is the best place to stay, so lively, with old vibe, friendly, colorful and smells of beautiful Bosporus winds:) GentleTom was Excellent; close to all means of public transport and in a walking distance from many interesting sights, hype, pretty, with an amazing restaurant, great rooftop, and above all, greatest people. Both management and front desk were extremely helpful (don't know where'd I begin explaining all the things they helped us with!) and I have to say it was one of the best hospitality experiences I ever had. Looking forward to visiting GentleTom again!
