"It had been a tough year for our family, and we were badly in need of a getaway surrounded by loved ones and the beauty of nature. The Red Door Lodge was the perfect prescription. The octagonal, log house has a feel of authenticity yet with all the modern conveniences. There was more than ample room inside for us, our adult grandkids and their awesome mom … but it was the grounds with many mowed trails and a gorgeous lake that were most amazing. The cabin is close enough to “civilization” for shopping and dining, but has a real “away from it all” feel. Just perfect. That is also a good word to describe the responsiveness of the owner, Melanie. We — reluctantly — came home in a renewed frame of mind, which is just how vacations should be."
