Maitlandfield House Hotel
8/10 Good
"Very helpful staff as I had a vehicle issue and they were great."

The Home Arms Guesthouse

The Leddie Hotel
8/10 Good
"Generally a great ‘boutique’ hotel, with great staff. Very clean and well presented in bedroom and communal areas. Only 5 car spaces on site but plenty free parking on road but in busy periods may be a 100+ meters away. Only real issue we had was room was too hot. A general problem in UK hotels and if no decent air conditioning, as was the case in our room, it made for an uncomfortable night. Would revisit but only when outside temperature was below 18oC to allow room to cool down. Towels were large, TV channels were okay, in room drinking facilities were good. Being a small hotel, all rooms were off a small corridor which meant clear noise as other guests walked past bedrooms along with opening and closing of fire doors. Only dropped from From 5 to 4 star simply due to temperature of room. Staff particularly good."

Tweeddale Arms Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"The room was excellent. The staff were helpful and very pleasant. Gifford is a beautiful and relaxing place. The food was also good. A thoroughly pleasant stay."

Open Arms Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Check in staff were very helpful. The food was mostly good but there was a bit of an issue with serving the main course and we were left waiting for a long time, with no-one advising what the issue was that was holding up the meal. Unfortunately, the steak was very rare instead of medium but we had waited so long to receive it that my husband did not send it back as it would have meant waiting even longer. Also the amuse bouche that should have been included in the summer set menu did not materialise. Other than that, breakfast was good and served quickly. I found out later there was only one chef which may have explained the delay but it would have been helpful to kept abreast of the situation. However, we enjoyed our stay and the hotel was in an excellent location with parking available, and I would certainly stay there again."

Greywalls Hotel and Chez Roux
8/10 Good
"The property is situated near North Berwick and has beautiful gardens. The building itself is a bit tired. Our room was disappointing for the grade of hotel. Coffee facilities were basis (one packet of two pieces of shortbread to share!). The cooked breakfast was lovely but the continental selection was very poor compared to similar hotels and given that one of the main selling points of the hotel is the Chez Roux restaurant. Cleanliness not what we would have expected either - some litter in our room either from the previous guests or the cleaner and the glass door in the restaurant was covered in finger prints. Heavy stains on the hall carpeting. Overall a pleasant enough stay but we felt not worth the money compared to other 5 star hotels we have stayed in this year."

The Folly Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Perfect stay for our early rise to join a landing trip onto Bass Rock. Nice and quiet, slept well and only 10mins walk to the harbour. Breakfast was in our room and we had requested a vegan breakfast which was exceptional. Also treats! Staff were kind and efficient, thankyou. Highly recommend. "
