"Natscha and her assistant Ajit run this wonderful small guesthouse. If you are looking for an authentic, local experience then stay here. But, it is not that easy to get to, The road to the bungalow is largely unpaved and steep but, for us, that was all part of the attraction. The surroundings are beautiful - lush green jungle, beautiful rice paddies, local temples etc. But, if you don't have your own vehicle then it is not possible to get out at night. The cuisine is local and very good....

"Amazing place, definitely going back. Beautiful view, relaxing, close to nature, monkeys and colourful birds. Rooms are spacious. Staff making sure that you are comfortable. Couldn't dream about better holiday."

"We are a family of six who had a truly wonderful stay at Villa Ad Astra. Everything was perfectly organised from the moment we arrived, including a delicious welcome lunch. The villa has a menu with meals that can be prepared for you, or you can choose to shop locally. Nilanga, the Villa Manager, was fantastic—he arranged fresh seafood and groceries, organised transport, and even accompanied us on trips to help with translation. His calm, helpful nature made everything easy.The villa itself is beautiful, and the pool was a highlight—we swam every day!The staff were exceptional. Depika, the chef, prepared amazing meals. Sumana, the caretaker, and Nirosha, the helper, were always smiling, friendly, and attentive. Their warm presence made us feel right at home.Tanushka, the gardener, even climbed the coconut trees to bring us fresh coconuts!We also want to thank the owners, Jan and Agneta, who were incredibly responsive and helpful in the lead-up to our trip.It was a relaxing, memorable holiday, and we can’t wait to return! Mark and Michelle. "

"Overall, the hotel has great potential, but unfortunately, it is completely untapped. The hotel has two advantages: a large pool with an ocean view and all rooms offering ocean views—of course, the higher the floor, the better the view. And that’s where the positives end. There is no service at the hotel whatsoever. Rooms are not ready on time for check-in. Contrary to the descriptions, there is no bar at the hotel. The food is „so so”, and all three meals a day are almost the same. The hotel is located in the middle of nowhere. You have to provide your own drinks, snacks, and refreshments because there is no bar. There is mold on the walls. The hotel is also partially under renovation. Overall, I do not recommend it. For this price, you can find something better and in a much more interesting location."

"I am so glad we booked Reef to finish off our Sri Lankan holiday - it was absolutely perfect from the huge, luxurious suites to the exceptional service and food. Dino and team could not do enough for us, but it was never over the top - we just felt well hosted by the entire team. Worth every penny to stay in such a secluded space on a beautiful coastline - we saw more cows on the unspoilt beach than people and you get a beautiful western sunset from Reef."
