"This is an old merchant house that has been nicely remodeled as a hotel. It's smack in the middle of Tomonoura's historic renewal district. The room I had was spacious, comfortable, and nicely designed. This hotel requires some pre-planning: getting the shuttle bus from Fukuyama, making sure basic needs are met (no onsite staff, except at breakfast time). "Akita and Rei were great hosts. Their house was fully stocked with everything you need, especially the kitchen. The house was located at a quiet neighborhood. You could walk to the beach and fishing port. We met locals who were really nice to lend us fishing poles for our stay. You could feel the real Japanese daily life and hospitality during the stay. Highly recommended for travelers who love experiencing the Japanese culture."
