"Big Horse Inn is a hidden gem in this part of Illinois. It is perfectly located, close to Dickson Mounds (great hiking trails), Emiquon National Wildlife Refuge, and the Illinois/Spoon River area. The room was spacious and the bed was comfy. Self check-in could not have been easier. Don't miss the attached Black Maple coffee shop for delicious breakfast and lunch options (and coffee, of course). "The Inn is a wonderful, quaint property. My room was spacious and very comfortable. So much nicer than a chain hotel. The propety is clean and in a great location. Lots of little shops to visit on the square if you have the time. There is also a great coffee shop downstairs! "
