"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Calf’s Head, Clitheroe. We attended a wedding at a venue not far from here, so it was a great location for us. All the staff were helpful and friendly and the downstairs bar/dining was an asset to our stay. We both enjoyed a lovely full English the morning after with the option of fruit, cereals and yoghurts. The outdoor space here is gorgeous so would definitely recommend going here to enjoy it on a nice day. The only criticism I can give is that the...

"Always a great stay because of the staff including Julie, Lawrence, Sean (the Boss man) and Liam (I hope I got the names right). But rooms are a little dusty and my mugs were both stained and needed replacing. Team makes this a place to come back to again and again."

"We notified Maypole Inn of our expected arrival time and Staff kindly kept the kitchen open for us as we were late arriving - Excellent evening meal and generous portions. Additionally, we were allowed to use the kitchen freezer overnight for our cool box. Rooms and bathroom were very clean and tidy although there was a patch of damp/dirt in the corner of the celling in the main room. "One night stay in May 2024. The White Horse is a pub no more than 5 minutes walk from the centre of Ripon and the cathedral. The rooms are converted stables at the back of the pub. The decor is basic and a little tired but if you’re going to book somewhere like this then you mustn’t expect opulence. The staff were friendly and helpful and I would certainly stay here again on a return trip to Ripon. "
