"We stayed for four nights at the Palazzo Sant Agostino, which is centrally located in the Capo market area. Like much of Palermo, it is a very characterful (shabby-chic) building. Our first night was in Room 7 which is downstairs in the garden area - which was a bit dark and got quite noisy in the morning (as it is underneath where breakfast is served). We had such a warm welcome, as we arrived straight off the overnight train from Naples & they offered us coffee & breakfast. Also we were given our room early as it was available. "We went with this hotel for the location, the king bed, the walk in shower, and the roominess. It did well with all of those. One thing we didn't pay attention to was that the hotel has no elevator. We ere in room 402 (which is a great room), but the last part of the steps were not regular sized steps. If you are short you will be hurting to get up them they are over sized steps. My wife and I are in our mid sixties and in good shape so it wasn't an issue, but if you are carrying a little...
