"The old house is very nicely renovated and decorated. We loved to spend our time there. Everything you need is there. The yard, the real living-room, is quite small, but very agreeable and has a nice atmosphere. Hostess Eleni is absolutely friendly and gave us a lot of advices for our trips and restaurants. In Kavoussi there are not to many tourists, so you feel as living in an authentic Kretian village. We are glad having found this accomodation and region for our holidays. . "

The key doesn’t fit the front door properly and the owner was on in contactable so it was all a bit of a fraught start. Spoke to the owner two days later, who said that I had her landline number and not her mobile. Hence she didn’t reply when we couldn’t get into the property. "Persephae house is a wonderfully restored villa in the hills overlooking Ierapetra. Every comfort is provided. It is large and comfortable, full of interesting furnishings. It is not at all surprising that the owner is a restoration architect! We were at first a bit intimidated by the tricky drive to the village on Anatoli but then spent a day admiring the many restorations in the village. In the end, we would have liked to stay longer than our short 3 days."

"We had a wonderful stay in this charming house located close to the beach. The house was spotless and well stocked with all the amenities. The view from the balcony over an olive grove to the sea was great - we particularly enjoyed all our breakfasts, lunches and dinners there. Also, the host, Nikolaos Kopanakis, was exceptionally friendly and helpful. To sum up, the location is really perfect for spending a most relaxed and delightful time on the south side of Crete."
