"How fortunate we felt having booked L'Estancat during our trip to Pau. A delightful old farmhouse set in a small farming community in the most beautiful countryside with a view of the snowcapped mountains and the sound of songbirds. "The location is very good to access the sanctuary. The staff is friendly and helpful. The included parking is a bit far away (250m uphill), but street parking is easy to find nearby and free overnight. The facilities are a bit old, but clean. Included breakfast was also very good. The overall value for price is very good. A great option if all you are looking for is a place to sleep while visiting the sanctuary."

"This was a lovely experience in the French countryside. The hotel itself felt like a destination with the view, grounds, pool, traditional French breakfast, and the kind, accommodating owner. Would recommend to anyone!"

Ved aftentid kom værten og spurgte om jeg ville se månenog det viste sig at hendes mand var astro fotograf, sikken en oplevelse, fik endda set jupiter med 3 af månerne. En oplevelse uden lige, som bare var en ekstra bonus. Værelset var en hel lejlighed restaureret perfekt i gammel stil. Morgenmaden overdådig og igen med hyggeligt selskab af værten og en god snak inden jeg kørte videre. Jeg vil helt sikkert komme igen hvis...

"We were really sad to leave Cécile’s home! She is such a kind and thoughtful host. Every morning, after breakfast, she would help us plan our day’s excursions, and just chat with us about families and life. Her primary language is French, so English-only may be difficult, but I’m sure necessary communication is possible. "On arrival we were told that they were overbooked (admitted it was their mistake), we were taken to another house which was about 5k away. Which was comfortable enough for one night. There was plenty food and wine but the food was very simple fare.On our final evening we were told food would not be available, so had to eat in a restaurant about 5k away, we think we would like to try Chambres D'hote again as we enjoyed sharing a meal with all the other guests."
