"Nice overnight stay with my partner. Room spacious and clean and the bed was comfortable. A little soft for my liking but I did sleep well. Was very thankful for the fan and I’m used to sleeping with one at home. Delicious food…the steak and ale pie was amazing! Thoroughly enjoyed the cooked breakfast before the long drive home. Would definitely recommend the Captain cook Inn and we would be more than happy to stay again. "

The room was great very spacious with everything one needs. The bed was a little weird and felt uneven but didn't stop us sleeping after busy days exploring the area. "The Blacksmith Arms Inn is a beautiful estate with so much history and character. The owners and staff were all very friendly ready to share stories from long ago including hosting a luncheon for Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip just 10 years ago. Fascinating conversations! The only con is exiting the grounds. The building is located on a curve and the street is boarded by tall shrubs. During the day it can be very dangerous exiting the parking lot. At night at least you on coming headlights....
