"Lovely boutique hotel, clean fresh rooms, the staff were wonderful, great breakfast and a lovely relaxed vibe in the evening for cocktails. Very central. The only reason I’ve given them a 4 for facilities and not 5 is that our room was on the third floor, 6 flights of steps with no lift. Difficult at 65 with a bad hip. The room overlooked the back alley, and you heard the loud noise of empty bottles being emptied into the skip. But that aside I would stay here again….but would ask for a lower...

"Great place as a base for exploring the Borders. Overall stay was good. Room was exceptionally clean(had a couple of minor niggles but these were dealt with happily and swiftly). Stayed in a double which was quite small (with only one bedside table). Would 'upgrade' to a larger room if staying again. The best thing about this hotel is the people and the outstanding service they provide-nothing too much trouble and so friendly. Ooh- and good food including a fab breakfast. "

"The flat was perfect with new appliances and fittings. It was spacious, light and clean. The staff on duty during check in were helpful, efficient and friendly. As people in their mid sixties who need reading glasses, my husband and I struggled to open all the doors with the code provided. Standing outside in the dark trying to punch in the code was a hassle every time. While doing this we met two other couples our age having trouble doing the same thing. I find a key card much easier.
