"The property is very close to the town of Alpena... A very neat town of about 9000 people.. many things to do in and around town... The property has a large front lawn area with a fire pit... Plenty of room where we tossed Frisbee, and did some other things... The back patio area is great for lounging around and enjoying food and drinks and views of the lake... The family enjoyed the use of the kayaks... there was always a bald eagle or two flying around... And the beautiful sound of loons calling to each other... The house was well equipped with everything we needed"

"We had a wonderful time this past weekend at Big Bear! The house is cozy and there is a lot of room. It was on a golf course which we loved as were avid golfers. The fun park across the street from the golf course is a great place to take the kids and get a sweet treat! We love the RV/campground that was also just down the road, it was a great idea if we ever wanted to go camping! The hosts supply you with all of your essentials and more. Sheets were super clean and floors were well kept! We were missing a few items, but no worries because they had them already supplied!!! Communication was INCREDIBLE! The documents provided beforehand were great and I was able to share them with all the guets so they knew what to expect. I'd advise getting groceries before arriving at a bigger chain store as they have more options then the market in Mio. Other than that, wonderful location. OH also two grills on the main deck... were AWESOME. "

"Owner was very personable and helpful. The cabin is vintage without a lot of modern upgrades, but that is what makes it charming. Kind of like stepping into a 1940's lakeside resort. It had all of the proper necessities, fridge, microwave, stove, kitchen wares, etc. It was clean and comfortable. Cable tv worked fine. They supplied some wood for a campfire which was nice and each cabin has their own firepit. The lake is beautiful and we could launch our kayaks from the edge beyond the seawall, even though the slope down to the water was a bit steep. Plenty of hot water, but it does have the sulfur smell so bring bottled water to drink if that bothers you. Great view to watch the sunset. Overall, we had a nice relaxing weekend. Note: your GPS may tell you that you have arrived at your destination, but it is about an eighth of a mile farther north. "
