River's Edge Cabin - Swim - Kayak - Fish From Your Backyard !!!!

10/10 Excellent

"This rustic cottage on the Cullasaja River is a wonderful place to relax. We especially enjoyed sitting on the deck and listening to the water flow over the rocks. The location is ideal for kayaking, tubing, and fishing, and it is only 5–6 miles from Franklin, making shopping convenient while still providing a peaceful atmosphere. The scenic drive to Highlands, North Carolina, takes about 30 minutes and passes several waterfalls. Dry Falls is particularly easy to access and offers excellent photo opportunities. Other nearby activities include gem mining. We visited Jackson Hole Gem Mine and had a great experience. We even had a ring made from my wife’s collection of gems to celebrate our anniversary. On our final day, storms brought down a nearby power line. Although the outage did not affect us at the cottage, our host thoughtfully contacted us to make sure we were safe and kept us updated. We truly appreciated the hospitality and would gladly stay here again."

Romantic Getaway with real wood fireplace, Hot tub, Spectacular Mountain Views

8/10 Good

"We enjoyed our stay, and there's a lot to like about this home. Check-in and check-out were easy, and the hot tub was very clean with great jets, but it was on the heavily chlorinated side. One thing we wish we'd known before booking is that the house sits high on a mountain, and the only way up is a gravel road with some steep drop-offs. It is paved about halfway and then stone grabel the rest. The drive up felt more nerve-wracking than the drive down. It takes about 25 minutes to wind your way down to the main roads. My husband wasn't comfortable driving it after dark, so we made a point of being back by 7:00 pm, which limited how much we could explore the area. That's a personal preference, but if you're not comfortable with mountain driving, it's worth knowing ahead of time. This rental would be ideal for guests who want to settle in and enjoy a few secluded days up on the mountain. For travelers like us who planned to head out and explore each day, the drive made it a less practical fit, since we were not comfortable with the steep inclines and drop offs."

'Bearadise' Cabin w/ Hot Tub at Hidden Gem Falls!

10/10 Excellent

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Despite our rough start. When we arrived at the house there was no power. No fault to the owner. There was a massive power outage in the area we weren’t aware of due to the hurricane. The owner offered for us to stay the first night and cancel the next day with a 100% refund if the power issue wasn’t resolved. Thankfully we had power the next morning. The house had plenty of games to keep our 10 yr old entertained. The hot tub and fire pit by the waterfall is so relaxing. There is an adjacent home that shares access to the waterfall but it is still private. The beds and furniture in the home were very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked. We also like they provide a huge kennel for dogs and bowls and such if needed. We brought our dog and he goes everywhere with us so we didn’t need it but it’s nice they provide amenities for the traveling fur babies. The home is centrally located in between downtown Franklin and Highlands. We enjoyed visiting the local towns and hiking. We plan on returning and staying here again."

Highlands/Lake Glenville Area-Hot Tub-Mtn Stream-WIFI-Seclusion

8/10 Good

"The property was as described. Clean and was stocked well enough for our needs. Had good internet connection and my cell actually worked at the house. Didn't use the hot tub though available, just didn't have time. Location was convenient to downtown Franklin and to the lake for a tour we were taking. We only had some issues with the door locking system. Took several attempts to unlock the door after locking when left. Overall a relaxing couple of days in the mountains"
