"Very suitable for a stopover convenient to motorway. It is not luxurious , but perfectly adequate facilities, bed very comfortable. Probably our mistake but we found ourselves in a first floor room with no lift in the hotel. We shall need to be more careful in future. Easy booking system . "

"Very convenient location for exploring York. Surprisingly quiet considering it's above a pub. It was a bit dilapidated, but very clean. Couldn't get the TV to work, and felt awkward to ask for assistance, since there's no front desk, just the pub. "

"This is my 3rd or 4th visit. The room price reasonable and having the restaurant attached means you can dip in and out as you need. The purpose of our visit was to see family and friends. The mattress in room 4 was poor. It ha a big dip in it. When I sat on the bedside, the dip in the bed meant I fell sideways. And similar when lying in bed, I rolled towards the middle.and woke every morning with a lump in my back. I didn't mention it until leaving as we had a busy schedule and changing rooms...

"The room was a good size with plenty of room for 2 people to stay comfortably. There was a fridge with a large bottle of drinkable tap water. The bed was okay but I have a bad back so brought a single topper with me. The staff were lovely and helpful. The TV remote wasn’t working so the lady swapped it for me. She also got me an extra bottle of water every day."

"Lovely property and lovely staff at pub. Great food and drink and very friendly service. Amazing value stay. Unfortunately heavy rain the night we stayed led to some leaks in property and bubbling drains in early hours of morning which hopefully can be fixed soon.
