My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon!! It was amazing. The location close enough to travel to tn for the day. Also, surrounded by many caves and trails. Will be visiting again!

Had a great time at this property on a weekend getaway. The weather caused some havoc but made it an adventure and enjoyed the small town and walking to get breakfast and the small shops.

We enjoyed our stay in hot springs! A charming home just a short walk into town and an even shorter walk to the Appalachian trailhead. The jacuzzi was nice after an afternoon of hiking!

Nice place, spacious & has many amenities, incl hot tub & firepit. Close to downtown and very close to entry to (one of) the entry to Appalachian Trail for hiking. 3 suggestions to make it perfect - 1) better mattress for master bedroom, 2) better internet (might be limited by what's available), 3) provide a keurig/nespresso or basic coffee/tea service.

We had a great time returning to the Chestnut again this year. Melanie went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable, and the cabin lends itself to wonderful fellowship around the dining table and around the fire pit at night. Can't wait to return next year.

We enjoyed staying there so much. The cool Morning air and hot sunrise on the porch made for delightful coffee sipping each morning. The full kitchen was appreciated as we prefer to cook our own fancy meals while traveling. They hot tub was relaxing and private. The seating spaces were abundant. The period decor was like stepping back into a restful reprieve. We read many of the books and could see ourselves playing the games and puzzles too. The nearby trails and convenient town were perfect for easy access.

Amazing place, water for shower goes cold pretty fast but that was expected. Otherwise everything else about it was perfect.

The cabin is very charming with lots of character. Close enough to walk into town which we really enjoyed, the hot tub was wonderful and we also enjoyed the rocking chairs on the front porch. It's an old cabin with lots of charm and warmth, it eminded me of visiting Grandma's house. You could feel the love that used to live there. Melanie was a wonderful host and easy to communicate with.

The property was perfect. The host called us the night before and gave tips on the town. We got in later than expected and there were lights and the heat on for us which was great after a long day of driving. It was a short walk to the town but keep in mind its a small town so things do close down a little earlier. We would book again for sure.

The cabin was as described - clean, roomy, nice front porch and yard and everything we needed. . Melanie was available and made us feel very welcomed, even supplying fresh towels half way through the week. Easy 1/2 mile walk to Hot Springs, restaurants, the spa hot springs baths and drive to hiking trails. It is not on a wooded trail but a highway, which is the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, as we were looking for a more remote location.

We were coming into town with side-by-side’s and some places frown upon that. She was very welcoming and even let us know the best places to park local breweries and places to grab coffee in the morning out of five stars. She deserves a 10. Thanks for everything we all said that we would be back!!!!

We did a guys trip to hike the AT for a few days. This place was perfect. About 50 yards from the entrance, we jumped on and hiked about 15 miles (pretty steep and exhausting section). At night, we walked in to town and listened to live music at Big Pillow. House was perfect for us with a bed, two bunks and a few futons. Outdoors had a fire pit and a hot tub which were great. House had everything you need and perfect location. Manager was really communicative. Would definitely stay again!

This was our fifth or sixth time staying at the Chestnut, and it was just as wonderful an experience as always. Melanie is such a thoughtful and helpful person, and she always makes sure the Chestnut’s most charming features stand out right when you arrive. The firepit was a great place for nightly conversations around the fire, and the warm decor in the living room and dining room helped facilitate board games and movies as we moved toward Christmas and the holiday season. Looking forward to our return next year!
