"Very basic rooms. One person seems to do all work from cooking to serving. Very helpful and friendly. But place badly needs more staff to clean and serve. One man cannot manage. Hotel in gear location to discover town and railway station by foot. Take car driving into hotel carpark as very narrow. Some good local beers on offer at bar. "

"This was a great unique property, right on a working train line. Perfectly situated to do the 3 peaks. Everything we needed was there and it was great to find some milk in the fridge on arrival. The bed was extremely comfortable, with duck down feathers and allowed for a great nights sleep. When we arrived the keycode wasn't working, so I called the host, who answered immediately and rectified the situation. There are 2 pubs within easy walking distance to the property, so great location to go out for dinner, though the kitchen had everything we needed. Unfortunately, I picked up an injury walking Pen y Ghent, which got worse walking Whernside, so I'll be back again to walk Ingleborough when hopefully the weather will be on my side, so that I can see the views! I can't wait to stay here again. "

"The Flaggs is a special place. Its old world charm is complemented with modern comfortable beds and lovely pillows. Although small it contains everything one needs for a 5 night stay.It is a pleasant 15 minute walk along the river to Settle station from where you can take the scenic Settle to Carlisle line to enjoy splendid views of the Yorkshire Dales or do excellent circular or linear walks.We would stay at the Flaggs again."
