Lovingly restored by the great-granddaughter of the original owner, Pa Willie’s is a traditional 150 year-old Bahamian/Hope Town Settlement cottage is located “Upalong,” just 200 feet from the harbour and ocean in the peaceful and picturesque heart of Hope Town. This New England style home is within walking distance to beaches, restaurants, The Wyannie Malone Museum, Saint James Methodist Church, ferry docks, grocery stores and gift shopping. The Elbow Reef Lighthouse is a short boat ride away just across the harbour. Bars and restaurants are within walking distance, but far enough away to not be noisy or disturb the peacefulness of the cottage. Relax in the front porch swing. Stroll through the historic settlement of Hope Town. Rent a golf cart, bike or boat. Private dock slip upon request (up to 35’ with 4’ draft at low tide). Propane grill provided. Golf cart parking upon request.

The downstairs master has a queen-size bed with ensuite. There is a cozy front parlor, fully equipped kitchen with an adjacent sitting room that’s perfect for board games or puzzles, and a spacious front porch. Upstairs is an additional bedroom with twins that can be converted to a king, a full bath, and a cozy dormer-ed bedroom (low head room, best for a child) with one twin. Dock will accommodate boat up 35’ (4’ draft at low tide) Welcome to Pa Willies!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We’re a family that keeps coming back to Hopetown and this was the best place to stayed based on our family needs. The beach was a quick walk away for the kids and so was the playground. The kitchen was well stocked with what was needed to cook. Great place overall.

Pa Willie’s is perfect for a winter getaway. The house is historic and located in the settlement, convenient to everything. It’s easy to walk and take a cart. We will return.

A very traditional Bahamian home in the heat of heart town. Has everything you need except food. A stop at Marsh Harbor grocery might be a good idea if you’re picky about what you like. Three stores on the island however limited choices. You’ll definitely need a golf cart if you want to explore the island. We’ll definitely recommend this property to any of our friends heading to Elbow Csy. Lory is a wonderful house manager. Julie Boardman

Great cottage, better in person than in the photos. Location is ideal for strolling the settlement and easy access to post office dock golf cart parking. Lory took excellent care of the cottage and our family. I highly recommend this property.

We loved our stay at pa Willie’s. The house was perfect for our family of five. We enjoyed our coffee on the front porch and grilling in the back yard for supper. We loved the boat slip and being so close to the playground. Lory was very helpful welcoming us and answering any questions we had. We will be back!! Best vacation ever.

The house was comfortable and met all of our expectations. We were a bit confused as to how to get there ‐ from the Post Office Dock, walk to the second cross street and turn right... a few houses past the Methodist Church. Short walk to the beach. The only problem was that the water in the upstairs sink didn't work but everything else was wonderful!!

We had a great week at Pa Willies. Great location that is easy walking distance to anything in Hopetown. Easy walk from the ferry to unload at the post office dock. And the best part, Lory went out of her way to assist when i left an important item behind. Would recommend.

Following great communications with Lory - Pa Willies does not disappoint. After 25 years of holidays in the area this was our first time staying in Hope Town itself and Pa Willies made it perfect! The property is fully outfitted and a only short walk away from beaches, its included dock, Vernon’s and a just short drive to other old and new favorites. We will book again

My husband and I spent a wonderful week with friends in this sweet, historical cottage. Located in the middle of the settlement, we walked every where. Or grabbed a shuttle ferry to cross the marina to the picturesque lighthouse. The owner was nearby and very attentive. The cottage is cozy and restored with comfort in mind. Loved the front porch.

We were so pleased with Pa Willies when we arrived. The house is located on a quiet street yet steps away from the Post Office dock. The house was clean and cool . The beach is also just a stroll away. Golf cart parking is very close as are the shops, Capt’ Jack’s, Scoops ice cream and Vernon’s store. The playground and shuttle to the Abaco Inn and Marina are right there, too. Lori was easily reached and helful answering questions. We would love to return to Pa Willie’s next year.

The property was clean and was as advertised. Very central to Hope Town. The property was well-maintained, and Lory was very responsive, even when we (elderly geezers) couldn't figure out how to turn on the TV. She came over to help us, but we found that we just didn't need to watch TV, even during the one rainy day we had. All in all, it was a delightful place to stay. Very comfortable.

Pa Willie's is an adorable cottage just across the street from Post Office Dock. Very easy to get to/from Marsh Harbour Ferry to the house. A surprise to us was a second upstairs bedroom. Tall people beware, the upstairs is not for you. The downstairs main bedroom/bath are fine for everybody. We had a few technical issues with the gas grill and oven, but the owners were very quick to come over and fix them. Super-good air conditioning! Everything was great. I would recommend that the owners provide a few folding beach chairs, otherwise, we loved our stay. Thank you!

We already miss our time at Pa Willie’s, sitting on the front porch with a (partial) view of the harbor and greeting friendly folks walking by. We ate on the front porch or in the side yard most nights but it was nice to have the dining room too. The living room was cozy and comfortable and so were the two bedrooms that we used, and all had air conditioners but we mostly just needed the fans. We appreciated the well supplied kitchen — didn’t use the grill. The house has historic character and charm, and we really liked the location, with so much within walking distance, including both the beach and the harbor just steps away. We also greatly appreciated having the automatic generator that ran the whole house during several power outages, so they didn’t hamper us at all. All in all, we enjoyed our stay very much and hope to go back.

My wife and I stayed in Pa Willie's, an historic and updated cottage right in the middle of Hope Town, for 10 days over the holidays. The location could not be better. It’s a one-minute walk to the main public dock(and cart parking) and the house has its own private dock which is a huge amenity in Hope Town where public dock space is extremely limited. The house itself is quaint, comfortable, and spacious downstairs. The upstairs with three bedrooms is a bit cramped, but very typical of historic houses of that era. Our three grown sons would have stayed upstairs without a complaint (had we brought them!). The kitchen is well appointed and has every pot, pan, and tool any chef would need. There are plenty of linens and towels. A/C works well. The side yard provides a wonderful view of the historic lighthouse across the harbor. The best beach on the island is an easy three-minute walk away. In short, we loved our stay at Pa Willie’s. Lory is accessible and always a text or phone call away if you need anything. We would definitely stay there again.

We had a wonderful time at Paul Willie’s. We rented the boat so this location is ideal. The house had everything you would ever need in the kitchen and was well stocked with paper goods.The host promptly attended to a problem when we arrived and was easy to deal with. The AC is wonderful!

Perfectly met all my expectations. Host was awesome and took care of things. Lory was so great at responding quickly to all communications. This is an older property that has all the charm and quirky details that you’d expect from an older home in Hope Town but with everything you need. Being located right on the edge of the settlement made it very convenient.
