"The quality of the property, particularly the downstairs bedrooms and bathrooms, is a bit shabby - feels more like a 'Home of Multiple Occupancy' than a holiday cottage. The big living space is great, though, ideal for the ten adults and 2 children in our group. The kitchen needs some TLC - the equipment is old and some of it not very good (the can opener doesn't work, the cafetiere leaks coffee grounds into your mug, one of the kettles is a bit ropey) but the mezzanine style works well in terms...

Adding to that, the hosts add lots of thoughtful touches like leaving some milk, snacks, board games and numerous brochures and guides for local attractions. Some other reviewers have mentioned the busy road; don’t let that put you off, be assured the property is not on the busy A road, but is on a local road which does get light traffic, but it is not at all bothersome: you won’t hear it from inside the house. "If you like comfy, cozy and convenient then don’t miss out on staying at the Cozy Cottage. It’s like staying in a modern version of your grandmother’s cottage. It’s charming and the owner Katie is a lovely person. We were surprised by the breakfast goodies and cookies waiting for us. It’s an easy walk into town and over to Sherwood Forest."

"Beautiful quaint little cottage next to the river. Parking was a bit restricted as the roads are very narrow and busy around the property. Opened the door to a very strong damp smell that greeted us upon each return, had to open a few windows. There wasn’t any ventilation in the kitchen or bathroom which could be contributery. The spiral staircase could have been made safer by adding grips as the small wooden steps were very slippery. There was no toilet paper or bin bags/liners or a tea towel...
