Come to our condo in Paradise..The MAUNA LOA SHORES is on the ocean in HILO; an exceptional town with plenty to do here on the east side of our beautiful island. The Beach Park next door where you can swim with sea turtles is a once in a life experience. My 49 years as a resident and 46 years as a Realtor here will insure you know where to go and what to do to make it the perfect stay.

The property adjoins a very swimmable beach and has a nice pool as well. The view from the 5th floor was fantastic and our place was clean and well stocked. Unfortunately the neighborhood was quite noisy.

Great Location - Secure Building

Great location near nice beach/park within minutes from downtown Hilo. Awesome manager communication with excellent local recommendations. Easy access, parking, and key elevator for secure building access. Only negative is there were many small bugs probably due to the closeness of the park and very loud traffic noise due to being on a main street.

We loved this condo. It was clean and quiet and right next to carlsmith park. It was a bit of a drive (10 minutes) to get into town, but we loved the location. One of my favorite things was the view from the deck. Pure jungle and ocean. Breathtaking! The condo was also well furnished and so comfortable. Wonderful place to stay!

Location, location, location!

The beach and surrounding area was amazing. Lots of turtles in the water right behind the property! We really enjoyed our stay here. The property was comfortable and clean. The road in front of the complex is noisy, but I wouldn’t let that deter you. Such a good spot!

Swimming with the Turtles in Hilo

We have stayed at the Mauna Loa Shores before and loved the location as well as the whole building setup. There are washing machines, a wonderful pool and not very crowded. And of course, the location and wonderful views. This condo was perfect for the two of us and had everything we could need. We would stay here again for sure!

Lovely spot

My wife and I had a very nice stay at Mauna Loa Shores! The lanai is nice and private, with a great view of the lagoon at Carlsmith Beach Park. The condo itself is very tastefully appointed and decorated, and the kitchen well equipped for cooking. The owner was very communicative leading up to our stay. We would definitely recommend this condo to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in Hilo.

This condo was in a good location, close to water with a beautiful view of the water through the trees. Fairly quiet, some street noise and close to airport but that didn't bother us. Condo was very clean and well kept, really have no complaints about it. We enjoyed our week long stay.

Hidden gem!

Breath taking views from the lanai and master bedroom! Condo was well equipped, had everything that we needed. Carlsmith Park next door had the best snorkeling, we saw more turtles than we can count and enjoyed both low and high tides!! We will be back!

Great place.

Clean, had everything we needed. If you are looking for a resort type experience, this isn’t it, but this clean, well stocked condo was perfect for us. There is a bit of road noise at night, but we quickly got used to it. You do go through an industrial area to get there, but once through that, the neighborhood is pleasant, with a number of beach parks close by. The owner was easy to communicate with, and we’d certainly stay here again when we come back.

Enjoyed to stay the condo

We were happy to stay this condo for a few of days. It is on good location and have sea view. We can just walk a few steps to the seaside and swim in the sea to see lot of fishes and turtles. One thing is really impression to me that is the owner prepared every thing you need to living there from the cooking wears to snorkelling gears. We didn't use them much but it is really convince for people to live there short time. I like this place and would come back.

Clean, great location and ocean & pool view

Terry was easy to communicate with and gave great directions to the lock box and property. Condo was clean and located in convenient location to downtown Hilo. Ocean and pool view and coin laundry on site made it even better. Unit looked recently remodeled with granite countertops and new fixtures .Terry was also nice enough to provide for the convience of guests some boogie boards , beach chairs, snorkel gear and more. Thanks for sharing your home we enjoyed ourselves . 😄 Laurie

Truly Home Away from Home

There was a minor lapse in communication that resulted in us arriving at the property without knowing which unit we were in or where to get the keys, but after a few anxious moments, we got that all sorted out and found the place to be absolutely wonderful. Definitely exceeded our expectations. Clean, beautifully decorated, exceptionally well-equipped kitchen, etc. The property location is in a semi-industrial area near the airport, so not as quiet as some, but super-convenient to downtown Hilo, the highway to the volcanoes, etc.

Overall everything about the stay was great, just had some issue with the light on the room. I was very surprised and pleased by how much was provided for the trip, googles, etc. Great communication with tenant. For the price though; I would recommend leaving extra toilet paper for the guest; when it comes to a trip last thing we want is head to the grocery store. Other then that I recommend for only a RELAX trip.

Secure unit nicely furnished just 10 minutes from Hilo. Great home base as we were out of the unit much more than in the unit. Felt very secure as two women traveling alone. Locked gate to units after 10:00 pm, locked elevator to access your floor and then lock and deadbolt to unit. Located across excellent seafood restaurant and next door to a public park with tide pools and shallow waters to view sea turtles and just quiet relaxation. The condo met our every need and found it convenient and comfortable for our 4 day visit. We would consider a return visit to this condo.

Loved Hilo!

The Property was as described. It is in a great location right next to Carl Smith Beach...the property manager was very responsive when we needed a new fan, came early the next morning. The condo itself has everything you need. The robes were an extra nice touch. FYI no AC, but with the cool breezes and fans, it was not missed. Only suggestion is fixing the back and front screen door so they are easier to close. Would definitely come back to this property and condo!

Nice condo but missing information in some area and activities not available

The condo was great many small attention were included but the general cleanliness could have been better. The condo is located beside a public park with an easy access for swimming and snorkeling. Sea turtles were present in the bay everyday. Many major area are closed on Hilo side of big island; the east point (champagne pond & lighthouse) gone since last eruption in 2018, the observatory Mauna Kea was blocked by protesters for about 3 months and the rainbow falls trails was also closed, no access to the ponds. However the tropical garden, the Kilauea, the chain of craters were fantastic.
