"One of the things I was looking for was a wired internet connection so I could work from my room. The data port mentioned in their amenities did not work. The outlets closest to the desk were covered by a large mirror on the wall. For the usual items, the bed was comfortable, the room was spacious. ..."

There really isn't anything in Hidalgo itself. You need to go to McAllen for food or shopping but this hotel is perfect to stay at while attending anything at the State Farm Arena and it worked for us.
